Letten is the beach in Zurich. It's very cool, eventful, people of all ages attend. Ideal for a summer day.

Switzerland and 35C do not go hand in hand, so it is nice to have the option to swim in the Letten. There is a bathing area with lockers and chairs and also different food take aways with tables and chairs. You can go for a swim and then enjoy a quite bite. Lifeguard is on duty in select areas.

Hands down this is my favorite place to be on a hot summer day in the city! Jumping off the bridge at the Marriott and floating down to Oberer Letten is a great activity - refreshing and fun. Of course, this place gets super crowded on any day with sun :D but just claim your spot and enjoy people watching... More

Flussbad Obere Letten is another busy spot on the Limmat for swimming and sun bathing. This deck has a cement floor and has changing rooms, lockers, restrooms, a connected bar/café, so it has facilities compared to just across the Limmat. This is also the exit location for the popular summer Limmatschwimm. This section seems to be for the more mature... More

Straight in the city centre, you reach this place in 10 min on foot from the Hauptbahnhof walking through the Heimatsmuseum gardens and the Spitzplatz park, where the Sihl river joins the Limmatt. There at the very tip take the bridge to the right and follow the Limmat's sidewalk, along the flow of the water on the right-hand side up... More

If you're visiting Zurich in the summer, you'll want to pack swimming gear. Many of the shops are closed for extended periods in July and August. Beside that simple fact, the Swiss are an active folk, and swimming is something they love. In Zurich you can always find people at Oberer Letten, behind the Landesmuseum a little down the Limmat.... In my opinion the attractiveness of this place depends a bit on what you want to do. However it is definitely a cool place to hang out with friends in the summer; there are volleyball courts, bars, places you can lie down to sunbath and of course there's the river. I always like to walk all the way up to... More

When summer gets really hot in Zurich (aropund 10 days a year), the Limmat is the wright place to cool down. A trendy Bar serves drinks and snacks - here meets young Zurich for a relaxing afterwork drink and swim.
