Nice comfortable, lively bar. Service was great but drinks are expensive. 19 francs for a cosmopolitan, but definitely worth a stop with a huge variety of drinks and great music!
We had a great end to our evening at this bar. The choice of drinks is endless and the bartenders can make anything. I would definitely recommend a visit to this bar while in Zürich.
Here you can relax and meet some interesting people. You won't find backpackers here at this price and shorts are not recommended either. This piano bar has an elegant look to it. A long bar on one side and small tables for 2-4 people on the opposite wing of the bar. At the center of the bar is the piano.... More
A good variety of drinks, relaxing atmosphere and good service. Not really excited with the quality of the cocktails though.
Maybe it was just one of those magical evenings, but we had just left the Jules Verne disappointed and 32 CHF down each after two drinks. The Widder blew the budget and our expectations out of the water. Snacks kept coming, waters were refilled and the drinks were amazing and made us forget the 20 CHF price tag. The piano... More
Simply put: The best drinks I have had in Switzerland. The only two comparable bars that I have been to around the globe are Angel's Share in NYC and Arnaud's French 75 in NOLA. The selection of drinks is pretty much endless. Not on the menu? No problem, they will try to make it. The selection of scotch is probably... More
Love this place for so many things, having been here at least a dozen times: the cosy interiors, the original medieval beams in the ceiling, the largest collection of whisky I have seen anywhere outside of Tokyo whisky bars, the lovely food and complimentary drink nibbles, excellent service and almost always great piano player (who sometimes sing, and on last... I visited the Widder Bar last evening looking for a real, honest to goodness dry martini, gin up with a twist. Well it was no problem at all for the bartender at the Widder. Used lots of ice to chill the gin and the glasses. He's a stirrer, not a shaker. The drink was excellent, top notch and a decent... More
It is in a good location and the bar does have character. There is a poorly described limited selection of wines by the glass – mainly Swiss, French or Italian – they do not yet offer New World wines by the glass (and an extremely limited selection by the bottle). Price per glass averages 10 CHF. Service was very good.... More
