My wife is a plant person so this trip had to be on our agenda. I thought it was a little challenging to figure out how get there so here is what I learned: take #11 streetcar from Bürkliplatz to Hegibachplatz. After you exit, look for the sign for the Garden (in Deutsch), then walk down the hill, cross the... More

Really enjoyed this visit. Because they are part of the University they are more "working gardens", than tourist gardens, but very well kept with everything labelled.

This is a nice botanical garden and a good place to get away from the many people in the city. Worth a visit since it is free.

As far as botanical gardens go this is different ......... In a good way. Easy to get to, although the day we went there were diversions because of track work. Gardens seem to be unkempt but there are labels on everything so it isn't though they are weeds. Downside is that few of the "more information" sheets are in English.... More

The Botanical Gardens (actually the new location - the old gardens being in the old city) were easily reached by tram and bus. The people in the Visitors Center in the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) were most helpful in planning the trip for us. The gardens are a pleasant place to relax and recharge, with interesting green houses. Definitely not... More

The three new domed glass houses are great and feature plants from three different climate zones. It's refreshing to see such a well maintained park with educational walks open for free to everyone. Also usually not many people come here, so it's mostly quiet and serene. Only criticism I have is that all the descriptions are in German only. However,... More

This place has samples of European and world vegetation and is a nice break of all the shopping you can have in Zurich. Worth the visit in a sunny day.

While no heavyweight in terms of botanical gardens, the plants here are interesting and the entry via the stairs past the wildflower beds is beautiful. Amusing seeing plants we regard as ordinary in Brisbane, Australia, being treated with such care in this climate!

The Biological gardens were worth half a day or more. Plants well signed in various climatic zones. Some stunning flowers from all over the world. Particularly enjoyed the domed atmospheres eg steamy rainforest, desert area .Tranquil grassed areas to sit and enjoy the peace, all free! Cafeteria offers a nice choice of hot and cold foods.

well laid out and easy walking. It was a good day though crisp, I can imagine that in good sunlight it is magnificent.
