Great place to eat your sandwich in summer

The gardens are 5 minutes walk from my office. In spring or summer when the weather is good I often go to eat my lunch there in the peace and quiet.

While the outdoor garden is quite average (more of a park), don't miss the tropical domes which contain a wide variety of interesting flora. Despite free admission, it is being very well taken care of - well worth a visit.

We visited the Old Botanical Garden, which is in downtown. Worth a visit if you have time to spend in a quiet place, surrounded by 300-year trees. We missed the Botanical Garden, which is larger and off-town.

This is really a silent oasis in Zürich. Nice place to walk with the family or just lie on the grass and read a book.

Many types of plants, great place for family, or even solo visit. Spend time on sunny day, do not forget to bring your books if you would like to spend hours here. It would be great to put the pictures of the plant on their guide paper.

My wife is a plant person so this trip had to be on our agenda. I thought it was a little challenging to figure out how get there so here is what I learned: take #11 streetcar from Bürkliplatz to Hegibachplatz. After you exit, look for the sign for the Garden (in Deutsch), then walk down the hill, cross the... More

Really enjoyed this visit. Because they are part of the University they are more "working gardens", than tourist gardens, but very well kept with everything labelled.

This is a nice botanical garden and a good place to get away from the many people in the city. Worth a visit since it is free.

As far as botanical gardens go this is different ......... In a good way. Easy to get to, although the day we went there were diversions because of track work. Gardens seem to be unkempt but there are labels on everything so it isn't though they are weeds. Downside is that few of the "more information" sheets are in English.... More
