Our hotel was in the old part of the city and wecould walk to the Grossmünster ("great minster") It is a Romanesque-style church with big, heavy bronze doors. The towers are beautiful and can be seen from far away. It was free to enter and we went inside (No photos are permitted inside). I love old churches and every time... More

One of the towers are opened for visitors, you climb up and enjoy Zurich panorama from top. No elevators, so can be harder for older people. But it really worth. More

There aren't many inexpensive activities in Zurich. Grossmünster is an exception. If you're overweight I would steer clear of the climb to the top as it's very narrow. If you're not, get ready to chuckle at those who are! :) More

Interesting church that is centrally located in the town. Tourist boards explaining interests in the church in different languages. Definitely walk up the 187 steps to get the views of the mountains, lake and city. More

We visited this church on a very cold and windy day and it was a beautiful experience. The bells were pealing and inside the windows both traditional and modern were stunning as was the air of serenity, due I think to the overall simplcity of the building, despite the grand proportions. Don't miss it. More

From the outside, it is very attractive. But when you go inside you become awared that it is an average. From its front yard towards river, the view is fantastic. More
