This was a dream come true! The train was olde worlde & spacious. We enjoyed coffee & pain au chocolate on the way up with fantastic views. The train ride up takes 2 hours, you then get off for the Gruyere cheese factory. Here you tour with a walkie talkie thing in your ear & get a cheese sample pack.... More

The trip overall was great you go out early morning with some chocolate corrosions and coffee or hot chocolate to start your chocolate adventure. First you visit the cheese factory were you learn about the history of this famous Gruyère cheese. Then they take you to a small beautiful town up the hill to have some lunch and enjoy the... More

Oh, boy!! This was a great trip through the mountains to visit a cheese factory in Gruyeres and a chocolate factory in Broc. Gruyeres is a very enchanting town, I loved it although I didn´t have much time to visit the castle there, but I will be back soon!!

We enjoyed our day's excursion of the train but a couple of disappointing elements. We thought we had booked a window seat but apparently not - this wasn't clear. We traveled in a new carriage unlike the old Pulman in the pics! (great company however and made the day even better) Service was rather officious on occasion. Breakfast was a... More

Starting out from Montreaux at 8.30 and the first stop was the Gruyere Cheese Factory to see how the cheese is made, then it was up the hill to the actual village which is a pleasure to visit, we had time to visit the chateau but no time to see the church which was my only disappointment. On to the... More

One of the two hostesses on the train, Afi, was having a bad day. She practically threw the chocolate croissant at us... The train serves ovaltine as hot chocolate. What a let down. THe chocolate factory is a joke....the "production line" is something that has been set up for tourist only. Most of the time at the Broc factory was... More

It's excellent for a day trip when one considers the area covered. I was on my own. But perhaps, with tiny tots, for a family outing it can be a bit long. Go for it, I would say

Great trip through the beautiful Swiss countryside. The chocolate factory in Broc was quite crowded, but there was a "movie" you could watch (basically a lot of old ads) while you waited for your turn to go in. Big plus at the end where you could have all the chocolate samples you wanted!

My family recently went on the Swiss Chocolate Train. The ride up the mountains was beautiful, and I'd even go ahead and say the trip was worth it just for the train rides (and you are on the train for a good portion of the day). We were given some coffee and a croissant once the train pulled away from... More
