The scenery from the train is stunning as you travel through the alps, the staff are very friendly and everything travel wise seemed to be clean. However, the cheese factory was quite small, and there was little to see, there were a few new things I learned though. The food provided on the train was pretty standard and was nothing... More

We had reserved the seats well in advance before arriving in Switzerland as it was a must do in our priority list. The train journey was fabulous. The train with its belle epoque carriages leaves from Montreux and after following a very scenic route takes you to your first stop- the cheese factory at Gruyeres. En route we were served... More

More than once on this journey I caught myself thinking " this is so good it feels like I'm in a tv advertisement for a european holiday"...which means that it was a great experience and the views were amazing. We were glad to have booked the first class older carriages which provided a nice olde worlde charm and comfort for... More

Based on the reviews, my husband and I were very excited about the Chocolate Train. We thought it would be a good ending to our Switzerland vacation. It's very touristy and not in a good way. The train ride was the best part of the trip. If you haven't spent anytime in the countryside than you will really enjoy this... More

I had been wanting to do this trip for some years but circumstances had always prevented it. This year though we planned the trip, booked the tickets and anticipated the trip with huge excitement. We were not disappointed. Glorious Belle Epoque carriages with their original 100 year old livery transported us in style to our first stop of Gruyere with... More

Cool little train that departs from Montreux station and goes up into the mountains surrounding Montreux. Stops at Gruyere where you take a tour of a factory making Gruyere cheese, then to a chocolate factory to do the same. Really fun for a family.

Scenery from train is up close and stunning. Cheese factory tour was excellent. Gruyeres castle and fondue lunch was great. Then Nestle chocolate factory on top of that. Tastings were BEYOND plentiful. Fabulous day trip.

A really nice activity if you are visiting Montreux. The visit to a small village for lunch was the highlight. Beautiful swiss countryside and excellent views from the train.

We booked this day trip via internet including the seats. There is a large convenient car park attached to the Montreux Train station (we were on holidays and had a rented car). We booked seats in the old Pullmann wagon which are 100 years old but very comfortable with large seats. Anyhow we can just ad to all the nice... More
