I wandered here so often. The views are just stunning, all the local stroll and at the weekend it is buzzing. Stalls, buskers, great food are all on sale at the weekend. You can walk for miles either way around the edge of the lake from Montreux.

My wife and I strolled the promenade following a visit to Castle Chillon in August. Other reviewers have praised the flowers, the art, the fountains -- all of it true. There are parts of the promenade that made me wonder if I had been transported to Los Angeles, and this was on a cloudy day! But while you're enjoying the... More

The promenade runs along the entire city of Montreux and all the way to Castle Chillon. It was a very pleasant walk with flower beds, beautiful art works, fountains on one side and the lake on the other. There is a statue of Freddie Mecury to honor the singers spending his last day in the city.

We went in September and the array of colours was fantastic. So well maintained. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the fantastic view. We were blessed with lovely weather.

In August, when we were at the lakeside promenade, there was a multitude of flowers, well manicured small parks, fountains and it was a pleasant walk

Montrose has a picturesque quayside promenade which allows you to walk from the small harbour in the north to Chillon Castle in the south, right against the waters edge, with sweeping views of the Lake. It takes about 1 1/2 hours each way, but you pass along some picturesque water front properties and lovely views of the Lake. A Freddie... More

I think it's called the Flower Walk and that's just what it is - thousands of different flowers and different colours along the lake. The bushes and trees are great too, not to mention the peaceful atmosphere and view. This is a very popular walk in Montreux and should not be missed.

Terrific tarmac pathway along the lakeside that is flower and tree lined for the most part. It is level, clean and lit so is ideal for an easy after dinner stroll. We found that while it was not overly busy throughout the day you were sharing it with cyclists, skateboadrers, roller bladers and children on scooters.

Stopped by on the train ride to Gruyere - Definitely recommend this stop. The Promenade is easy to get to via a long row of stairs from the train station - next to the Swiss Hotel. It's beautiful and worth a stroll. Great views and great places to stop to eat.

We walked home all the way to Veytaux Village (in the direction of Chateau-de-Chillon) from Montreux at sunset. Bring a light jacket, because it gets chilly when the sun goes down! There were swans playing in the water and people feeding them, which was fascinating to watch. We were there during the Montreux Grand Prix, so it was quite busy,... More
