You may think Gstaad has this shiny golden name where celebrities and only rich people are gathering. This is just during a short period of time. The rest of the year this a quiet and pretty village with all these fancy shop that you also find in Geneva or Zurich. The selection of restaurant is limited and the places are... More

There are a lot of high end shops in Gstaad. Good restaurants that you could sample . eg the restaurant in Hotel Rossli

Pretty little town high up in the mountains. Lots of designer shops and the famous Gstaad Palace hotel. Worth a stop off on the Golden Pass train.

So prettily laid out and easy to negotiate. If driving remember to take lots of change for parking and the public toilets by the station - they charge in cents to get the door open. Been years since Ive been charged to spend a penny!

My husband and I took the Golden Pass train to Gstaad for the day. The upscale town is nice to walk around. The flowers and the building design are exquisite. However, a cable ride to Wispile provides you with stunning scenery and is well worth the 30 minute walk from town. Lovely!!! There is a very nice restaurant at the... More

Its a very pretty place make sure you look up at the carvings and balconys as you walk. There are also pieces of sculptor dotted around. I love the 3 tier cookshop. It has some swiss made pottery as well but as you would expect expensive. If you carry on walking you will see river and stepped waterfall running upder... More

Such a beautiful litlle town, decorated in a magnificent way. The surroundings are also worth a trip, either in Summer, Autumn or Winter.

Had a very short stop in Gstaad, but worth it. Many pricey shops and decent looking restaurants. Would like to stop with more time.

I've been here several times. Sorry I don't get it. Gstaad has had a element of the "jet" set attached to it for years, but for what reason? It's essentially a small village in the middle of nowhere in particular, has a sand filled volleyball court in the center of the village and about fifty nice big chalets built by... More

Expensive, even for Switzerland. The place oozes style and wealth, but not really in a tacky way - there ia nothing "footballers wives" about this place. Great for a walk in the mountaims or along the river if it is not the skiing season
