This was wonderful to see, situated on the lakeside walk past the casino. The Casino has a small display of a studio set up, mementos and costumes. Well worth a visit.

It was just a statue, but you can see how his fans adore him and have left flowers and tributes. Freddie really seemed to have found some peace in montreux.

A short walk from the hotel to this statue of Freddie Mercury. A fitting tribute to a man who appreciated the city and a city that appreciated him.

A beautiful setting for one of the all time great musicians. A classic pose from Wembley 1986 concert at the climatic end of A kind of magic song. A pilgrimage for all fans of Freddie.

Quirky but people from all ages will relate to the great music that came from Queen so include a visit to the statue in any trip to the area. Also see the Queen Experience exhibition just opened in the Casino - excellent!!!

I wouldn't tell anyone to go out of their way to see this, but if you're in Montreux, you'll most likely be walking the lake side promenade .... and there's no way you'll miss this statue! Strike a pose, buy an ice cream from the vendors next door, and have fun :)

Then you owe it to yourself to take a stroll over to Freddie and pose for a few shots. What would set this memorial over the top would be some sort of audio feature - as it stands, it's a visual experience.
