Beautiful castle

Very nice castle on the shore of Leman lake. There are a lot of things to see inside the castle. Also the surroundings are stunning!

Chateau de Chillon was one of my must sees while in Switzerland. It's very near the Montreaux station, we kept our luggage in the locker and travelled to the Chateau via bus number 201. Our entry was free as we had the Swiss pass. This structure is located next to a lake and the beauty of it is breathtaking. The... More

Must-see. Located beside the lake it offers amazing sight-seeings. Impressive fortress and prison, full of history.

My friend and I visited the Chateau in February, we arrived just before they opened the gate. I loved crossing over the moat. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. We chose to walk through the museum on our own, rather than have a guide. It was a chilly day, but not too cold inside the walls of the... More

Dont go in winter unless well wrapped up. Expect huge crowds weekends in Summer. Lots of foreign tourists.

Lovely place -- takes you possibly an hour to cover. Good to get a guide else you will be left figuring out many things. The place also sells some traditional Swiss food cooked fresh --

This is a historical castle that has been restored/maintained, which currently functions as a museum. Excellent place to get lost in over an afternoon. If you want to go in depth into the details the castle offers, be prepared to spend 3-4 hours in here. A variety of media from print to interactive terminals dot the various places of interest,...
