The train journey to Rochers - De - Naye alone is amazing. The view continues to change Lakes, Hills, Beautiful Swiss Challet type houses that remind me of the traditional Cookoo Clock ! When you arrive there are two restaurants to choose from, for coffee or lunch. There is a special area for the whistling Marmots which look like large... More

Perfect sunny day with great views..don't bother if the weather isn't good. Hiked around and checked out the mamuts and spectacular views. Had a snack and a beer up top and many folks were having fondue which looked really tasty. Planes flying over, cows with their bells ringing and herds of sheep down below all made for an idyllic Swiss... More

Rocher de naye is an outing well worth it from geneva area. An easy train ride to montreux[1 hr] and then onto the cog rail toy train up to glion, caux and rocher de naye [2000 m]; if you choose a nice day, the views can be spectacular and dramatic ! There is a self-service restaurant at the top as... More

The train ride up to the summit was amazing - great views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. It was a clear day so once at the top, was able to see all around the alps. There's a restaurant at the top which has basic options (nothing too great). I spent about an hour or so at the top... More

Having had to pay extra to get to the summit (although we were told that the Rail Pass would cover the whole journey) I was disappointed in what we found. The whole place was a little run down and unkempt. The marmots were not to be seen. Didn't stay up there long at all.

We decided to drive this magnificent mountain and were greeted with outstanding views of the lake at some of the lowest points and as we drove higher we found some lovely places that you could park and enjoy a picnic but unfortunately we were unprepared for this but I would highly recommend you give this a try as it would... It is really paradise, not only fo the marmots. The trip by train up there is worth the trip in itself, the marmots are such lovely creatures, and the views and smells of alpine flowers are enchanting!

Taking the short train ride from Montreux to Caux is very scenic! Starting from Caux, you can do a leisurely hike up to Rochers-de-Naye. The trail follows a road through the trees and there are a couple of nice outlooks along the way. Up at the top there are great views especially if you walk past the marmot pens along... More

Our Swiss friends recommended this outing. We left Geneve in the morning on the train after buying 2 return tickets Geneve-Rocher-de-Naye (1/2 price for teens under 16). The trip took 1h to Montreux and another hour to the top. Everything went smoothly (Swiss punctuality is amazing). The cog railway trip is great and leaves every hour. Stunning views on the... More

For a quick taste of the alps, take the cog train to this mountain. The hikes, to irregular hikers, can prove very challenging with significant elevations in thin air, and some tricky terrain over snow patches. Spectacular views from the top, including hand gliders launching nearby.
