This is a great way to spend the better part of a day. A cogwheel train takes you up and I found that to be a fun, enjoyable ride as you see the alpine views start to spread before your eyes. Try to pick a nice, clear day for this. The hiking is amazing and the views are breathtaking. The... More

Great trip up the mountain in a cogwheel train. Gorgeous hotel half way up. Breathtaking views of the valley below and the Alps. Unfortunately, we had clouds at 1800m and so we did not get a view at the summit, but well worth it just the same.

Taking a train up to the Rochers-de-Naye is definitely a must-do in the Montreux area because the views from the train and also from the Rochers-de-Naye are breath taking. Don't miss it! Unfortunately the facilities (restaurant and hotel) are in dire need of refurbishment. They are old, run-down and in poor conditions. So don't expect much. There are two restaurants... More

The train runs every hour each way, starts at Montreux on platform 8, at 44 mins past the hour. You can’t miss it, it appears from the tunnel and has “Rochers De Naye” written on the side of the train. It takes 55 minutes to get to the top, and stops at Glion, Caux and Jaman along the way. It is one of the beautiful alpine in Swiss. We felt it great once we reached there since it was the first day in Swiss on the way from Geneva to Interlaken. after seeing the great Titlis and Jungfraujoch ..this wont be a must go. However there were a few tourists since we reached early in the morning. Got some... More

I lived in the Montreux area for several years and I went to Rocher-de-Naye on several occasions. There are nice views from the top into every direction, in particular over the lake geneva. There's a restaurant and a self-service as well as a little marmot-zoo, a round-walk and alpine-flower garden. In order to get there you can take the train... More

Took the train up and was greeted with extraordinary views. Had a very nice luch at the top. Good typical Swiss food. Not a tourist trap!

Buy a map, wine and some food (you can purchase everything right there in the restaurant) and you can take a very pleasant walk almost to any direction. All trekking routes are clearly marked (as everywhere in Switzerland) so you won't get lost.
