Just an ordinary Swiss/French square/street

Quite a busy place, noisy. The church is nice, some buildings too, lakeviews you can get better elsewhere.

Walking around the city centre, you'll see this, sure. Is it drop down spectacular? No. But it is charming. It has bars, pubs, shops ... but don't make a special visit just for this.

This is the bus crossroads and apart from the church and banks, there is nothing much to visit. The Lausanne Palace hotel is close by - excellent cuisine and also a nice place for a drink.

Place St Francois is the ever changing place in Lausanne, during hristmas you feel in the far North and can enjoy vin brule' and the nice hutte for gifts, during summer you stay outside in the nice bars and during the year you see people all the time. A place to spend time and enjoy the nice shops too ....

If you want to hang around and to have some nice disco clubs, place st françois is the good one. Let's go for the gallery and commercial centre if you want a daily interesting area.

This is the place where history and modern life are together; you can find everything you looking for. A lot of small, cheap but tastefull eating places. You can reach by bus or metro from Ouchy or Gare. All the shopping centers in the center of Lausanne, only good by walking.

Reason to visit: There are many shops, house banks and lots of transport lines cross that place. The Church is beautiful but nothing special (I like more the Cathedral) The place: beautiful at night with the lightning but during the day there is nothing special except if you look for shops or any transport to go somewhere. In fact I... More

gorgeous area, the st. francois church in the middle is gorgeous, it's also central. check out "blondels" chocolates - one of the best in lausanne. or, if you're feeling unoriginal, theres a starbucks there too. (one of the only two in lausanne!)

The house where Edward Gibbon lived for many years, and where he completed his Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, once stood in Place Saint Francois, where the post office stands now. There's a commemorative plaque on the corner of the building.

Its a place in Lausanne with church....thats it. At night time the 'entertainment' is getting less and more risky since some strange character always stroll in this area. Nothing to see.
