Despite having been in what seems like thousands of churches and cathedrals one is always unable to go past just one more. This cathedral has wonderful stained glass windows and the information on the carvings of flowers and plants was very interesting. A great view from the forecourt if the weather is kind.

Nice cathedral. Highlight was a climb up to the top of the bell tower. Hard work on a hot day. But the views of the city and the lake are excellent.

The cathedral is lovely, but not very ornate. During the Reformation, the building was stripped of most of its decoration which leaves the interior quite spare. The chapel with the beautiful wood choir stalls was locked on the day of our visit. I don't know if it's ever open to the public. The area around the cathedral is very interesting... More

As far as cathedrals go this one is pretty small but it is well worth the trek up the stairs for the view alone. I went on an appalling day and there was still a fairly nice view over the rooftops towards the lake and France. The cathedral is also worth seeing from the inside; I was impressed by all... More

It is a large cathedral and immaculately maintained. But it is not a particularly ornate church, more striking for its high ceilings. But the location is elevated so you get a great view across Lausanne and out to Lake Geneva. Incidentally, there was no entry fee. If you are in the Old Town of Lausanne it is quite nice but... More

We were so impressed by the views from the Cathedral, we climbed the medieval steps two days in a row! The view of Lausanne, the lake, and surroundings gives a hint at the medieval life. The Cathedral itself is restored and well maintained. It was surprising to see such a large, Gothic style structure in Switzerland. Originally a Roman Catholic... More

It's a bit of a hike, but it's well worth walking up to the cathedral. It's a very large and beautiful old cathedral. Go inside and climb to the top (it's not clearly signed but you can definitely do it) for spectacular views of the city and Lake Leman. The neighborhoods around it are also well worth exploring.

Amazing view to the Lake and Ouchy below from the large terrace in the front of the cathdral. The inside is grand Gothic, with many amazing stained glass work. This cathdral is currently under restoration, with some work around the outside of the structure. Spend some time inside looking at the details of the stained glass. Many are beautiful and... More

The Cathedral is very nice and impressive from the inside. However, I liked the place for the panoramic view of the city that you can enjoy from the outside.

Not huge, but quite beautiful and simple, but the stain glass windows are really beautiful, especially the ones to the left of main altar. They are quite high in the cathedral, but incredible detailed and almost like a glass mosaic. While we were there, they were either tuning the organ or practicing for the service the next day. Very special... More
