On the webpage they claim to have over 40'000 photos from different periods, unfortunately the very odd house hosting the Museum only has room to temporary expos and they were not exciting ones. Why the Museum doesn't expose its pieces to the public?

One of the best places in Lausanne, can hold the comparison with many international museums: the museum presents temporary exhibitions mainly from the best contemporary photographers, some memorable will leave me permanent souvenirs . The current director will (unfortunately) leave soon we hope that his follower will follow the same direction.

I can really recommend this museum - very nicely presented and chosen Photo Exhibitions. The museum is in a little villa, giving it just the right size for a pleasant visit. Location is between the train station and Ouchy (lake) and hence easily reachable from everywhere.

A very ambient place to visit. A wonderful Garden and within walking distance from lake Geneva. Not at all far from the nearest tram.

We loved the museum itself and the display space. The two exhibits were fantastic. We didn't care for waiting outside in the rain because of terrible entry space and lack of planning to get a lot of people in the museum on a rainy day. Once we were inside, we truly enjoyed the visit.

REally good displays and a wonderful montage of Lausanne in the 1600's but even tho there was english notes there was a lot of information missing. A guide would have been a good option if there had been one available.

The collection here changes twice per year, always featuring a well-known photographer working on a modern or post-modern theme. Exhibitions are well-planned, and the atmosphere is perfect for contemplation - it seems to be an old estate house, just by the lake. Make sure to check out the attic.

The main disadvantage of this place is the layout. There are a lot of stairs which make it difficult for less mobile visitors. However, some of the exhibitions are fascinating whilst others are mediocre. On the plus side, it's not expensive so it is a place I visit regularly.
