A little nature paradise in the city

In the hart of the city, this place offers a way to escape in nature, with very interesting species and nice views over the lake

This garden makes you feel like you're in a great place, breathing great fresh air and enjoying a great, beautiful view over Lausanne and the lake. The best you can do on a sunny day. There are paths winding up to the top of the hill where you can relax and enjoy the views or play games on the grass.... More

We spent the morning and the mid afternoon in the Jardin Botanique in early May 2013, enjoying the views over Lac Lac de Genève (Lac Léman for the French). In the morning, the silvery light and low, misty cloud over the French alps was almost other-wordly. In the mid afternoon, after the early mist had burned off, there were beautiful... More

Awesome little park with beautiful plants and informational panels along the way. Worth a detour if you are walking through the city. And take the time to go all the way to the top; there is an auditorium facing the lake with possibly the best view of Lausanne anywhere.

I guess I should've stayed away from it. Last year I went to Pittsburg and visited the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens there. This is just a little more than a garden. It does have a tiny carnivorous plant glass tank.if that's your thing.

This sad garden will make you feel better about your own garden! It is riddled with weeds and the few buildings in the gardens are in need of repair. There is no café (in case you were hoping for one). The botanical gardens are actually quite small. If you walk up the steps you will find yourself in another municipal... More

We were very disappointed with the Gardens. They need a lot of tender loving care, and are generally in a very run down state. It is an excellent site but needs a huge injection of money and effort to make it worth a visit.

It's free, it's pretty, it's central, it has a great view from the hill above, benches, trees, plants ... heck, it's a botanical garden. It's not going to knock your socks off, likely, but it's the kind of spot that makes you feel like you're in a great place, breathing great fresh air and enjoying a great, beautiful view. It...
