As a sports enthusiast, I highly enjoyed this museum. It is in a beautiful setting on the water near Port d'Ouchy. The history exhibit on the Olympic games is fascinating and the memorabilia from the last 100+ years of the Modern Olympics is quite remarkable. The outdoors are worth exploring: there's the olympic flame, a 100-m track where you can... More

Visited this museum one Sunday with a friend, it had loads of different sections covering pretty much everything to do with the Olympic games, from its origins right through to the modern Olympics, the Olympic flame, the stadiums, athletes' costumes and even what they eat. We spent about 3 hours going around and reading as much as possible, you could... More

I didn't expect to enjoy this museum as much as I did. It is put together beautifully, looking at the Olympics from three different perspectives on the three levels. The exhibits are interactive and colourful. I found that it was put together in such a way that the visitor becomes emotionally involved in reliving the energy of the events. I... More

Not being of a sporting nature or interested too much in history I went to this revamped museum somewhat sceptically and reluctantly. However I found the whole experience thoroughly interesting, inspirational and uplifting. It is extremely well staged for adults and children alike with many of the exhibits being completely open and not hidden behind some glass display cabinet. The... More

Wow. This is one of the most enjoyable museums; great for adults, teens, and young kids. The setting (in a lovely park, overlooking Lake Geneva) is awesome. The museum has something for every person to enjoy. From the great sculptures outside to the torches and shows inside. There is a lot of history to be learned for those interested. The... More

My wife and I are not keen on the Olympics - we have never watched an opening ceremony and watched very few competitions - but we enjoyed our visit to the Musee Olympique. Very informative about the foundations of the ancient and modern Olympics, training of elite athletes, etc.

The recently renovated museum provides a comprehensive history of the Olympics start from ancient Greece through to the start of the modern Olympics. There is then a comprehensive coverage of different aspects of the Olympics grouped by theme e.g. medals, torches, equipment, construction, athletes villages, athletes stories, equipment etc. This seems to work well and probably far better than having... Newly renovated, on 3 levels, this tells the origins of the Olympics up to the present day. The exhibits are very interactive, with many audio/visual medias. Among the highlights are the torches that held the flames, with interactive video showing the final torch lightings and the medals from many of the games through history. Also had equipment/outfits from many of... More
