We stopped here 90 minutes before closing time -- we should have arrived earlier. The Musee does a great job of presenting all of the facets of the modern Olympic games -- not just the history of the games, the hundreds of athlete stories, and the memorable moments, but also things like the site-selection process (and what the games have... We visited the Olympic Museum on the one really rainy day during our visit to Switzerland and really enjoyed it. The museum covers the history of the games up to the present day, explanations of how the modern games are organized and run and a great interactive section on how athletes prepare themselves. It is a very modern museum (I... More

If you have a change to visit only one museum in Lausanne, this is it. You will see the full history of the Olympic games inside, and besides that, you are in Olympic capital; you should miss its Olympic museum. Take you time inside, and enjoy!

Impressive building and great fun looking at the Olympic record exhibits outside. There a 100m sprint track you can run along and a few other things. The cafe upstairs has fantastic views. We didn't go into the museum itself but great to visit all the same.

When I arrived at the museum, I hesitated to pay the hefty entrance fee (18CHF/12CHF for sudents) but decided to go for it. Ended up spending 3.5 hours in there, absolutely entranced by the quality of the information, the depth of history presented, and the quality of the sports equipment on display. It was great to be right there with... More

I visited the Olympic museum after renewal and was impressed the layout of the exhibition. There is so much to see on different floors so you need to take your time and study carefully. It begins on the first floor where you have a shop with t-shirts from different Olympic teams and after you can see how all started in... More

Recently renovated with touchscreen exhibits, great films, and all sorts of fascinating exhibits. I think some of my friends who were with me who couldn't care less about the Olympics still found it interesting. Figure on at least 2 hours. It's not near the city centre of Lausanne so you'll either need to drive or bus out there.

Open for lunch. Nice brunch on weekends, the Tom Café is really worth trying! They have salads, even vegetarian dishes and the menu of the day at a reasonable price. The waiters are nice, the view awesome and the design is very modern. Spacious terrace. You can enter the cafè without visiting the museum.

I didn't think I would enjoy the Olympic Museum as much as I did! It was informative and interactive. It really made me appreciate all of the work that goes into the Olympic games. It was cool to see the uniforms and torches from past games. My family also tried TOM Cafe at the top of the museum. The view... More
