The recently renovated museum provides a comprehensive history of the Olympics start from ancient Greece through to the start of the modern Olympics. There is then a comprehensive coverage of different aspects of the Olympics grouped by theme e.g. medals, torches, equipment, construction, athletes villages, athletes stories, equipment etc. This seems to work well and probably far better than having... Newly renovated, on 3 levels, this tells the origins of the Olympics up to the present day. The exhibits are very interactive, with many audio/visual medias. Among the highlights are the torches that held the flames, with interactive video showing the final torch lightings and the medals from many of the games through history. Also had equipment/outfits from many of... More

The museum is located on top of a hill surrounded with lovely and nice flowers, greenery and several bronze sport athletes statues representing different types of sporting activities (cycling, running etc). While walking up to enter the museum, you will need to walk up several flights of steps but you will be very happy to do so because the view... More

Our first visit after a long upgrade. What was once a rather ordinary museum is now a museum of extraordinary magnificence. Built on top of a hill you can ascend by a winding path or for the fit climb the several staircases. Entry is CHF 18 with reductions for oldies and the younger generation. No expense has been spared and... More

An absolutely fabulous museum-just reopened after major renovations! Super interesting and great for kids-don't go for just 1 hour but at least 2-3 hours! So much to see and learn! Well done really!

We visited a couple of years ago and since then it has undergone major renovations. We all agreed it is the best museum we have visited with a great mixture of fact and entertainment. The audio guide is well worth it and if you have a Swiss Travel Pass (and you really should) the museum is free.
