Here's a pleasant (and free) way to be an outdoor Lausannois(e) for a morning orafternoon if you are in the area. Climb the 302 steps to the top of this wooden tower that was built with donations from the local community (metal plaques name the patrons of each step.) From the top, you have a 360 degree view over Lausanne,... More

Not spectacular, not "must-see" for all visitors of Lausanne. But if you don't have idea for sunny saturday afternoon, I recommend to have a chilly walk in Sauvabelin forest and visit the tower of Sauvabelin. The tower is really nice, wooden with a bit giving vertigo effect with its snail-like stairs. Nice, informative 3D map on a top. Be careful... More

This is unique tower, built completely from wood. It is located near Sauvabelin lake on the hill. The view from the tower is magnificent, however one need to reach the top first, which can be challenge for itself.

Located in the middle of a small forest, right in the center of city, it gives you very enjoyable and refreshing views of the city, lake and mountains against the city. The only important note is to make sure it's not the summer time; because at this period of the year, the trees won't allow you to have full panoramic... More

A free wooden lookout tower at the end of an invigorating hill run to the top of Lausanne. It's nice.

In a nice day with a blue sky preferably during winter (very dry atmosphere) you will see very very fare all the beautiful surrounding landscape. A must to see.

We got here via metro, got off at sallaz and followed yellow signs to sauvabelin. This took us on a little 15min trek through peaceful forest on the way. Tower itself has very unique architecture, a bit scary on windy days at top but worth it. Took some snacks to enjoy while taking in the panoramic views of the city.... More

The indications to the tower are not the best. 200m to the left of the cafe in direction of Lausanne City.

You have to climb up about 150 steps, but it is not so painful, and at the top you get your reward ! The panorama on the lake of Geneva and on the Alps is gorgeous and breathtaking. Of course, you have to choose a clear day to do that.

A must for those who prefer to walk. The bus stops are either at Lac Sauvabelin or Signal, both requiring a short walk or a hike depending on the route you take. It's impressive on close up as it is made up of wood. The views are really breathtaking, a 360-degree view of the city of Lausanne. Well worth the... More
