We visited this place in all her glory, it was our second time to this lovely scenic spot. The Matterhorn, Gonegrat,. there is a train or cable car service to get to these places but it depends on how much energy you have. We were full of air and life and the rains dissapeared before we could make the ascent... More

Zermatt is the closest place to get to the top, to Matterhorn. Wonderful village, full of character. Unfortunattely there are a lot of new buildings coming up (hotels) and that is what is going to distroy the natural beauty. It is very sad to see all the alpine spirit crashed under buildings and commercialization. And yet we have to enjoy... More

Fresh clean air, amazing, truly amazing scenery, nice restaurants and bars - brown cow pub on the Main Street, does amazing burgers- pricey, but worth it. Zermatt is expensive so be prepared to spend. Glacier paradise is incredible. Riding the cable cars is not for the faint hearted, neither is crossing the swing bridge at Furi! Stop off at schwarsee... More

A must see on your visit to Switzerland. Excellent restaurants, shops and breathtaking views. Plan on spending the day or stay in one of the many hotels and make Zermatt your holiday destination.

The title of my review says it all. We went for a day trip to Zermatt from Zurich. Although a 3 hour trip because of the stops along the way it was worth every minute. Before we left for our trip to Switzerland we checked the weather every day to see what day would be best to go to Zermatt.... More

We visited Zermatt and rode the Gornergrat cogwheel train to get a closer view. It is spectacular on a clear day. We hear about the clouds rolling in but that did not happen for us. It was beautiful!

We arrived by vehicle at the city of Tasch (btw the ride up has some amazing mountain views, rivers flowing off the moutain and snow resedue) to park the car and take a train up for chf 16 both ways. At the top we were at the city of Zermatt, beautiful! There are electric taxis that can drive you around... More

Our friends love hiking and so we choose one week in Zermatt. The surroundings are breathtaking but this comes at a price: Accommodation in Zermatt is among the most expensive in Switzerland. Zermatt is a car-free village. Therefore we choose Täsch , which has connection with Zermatt by the frequent shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. You can be... More

Due to travelling around Europe in the summer of 2013, we attempted to travel through Switzerland on a "budget". With this in mind we stayed at the village of Tasch, the last stop accessible by car. Parking is available at the train station 24/7 which is also the place where you will access Zermat, a car-free zone, via the local... More
