The title of my review says it all. We went for a day trip to Zermatt from Zurich. Although a 3 hour trip because of the stops along the way it was worth every minute. Before we left for our trip to Switzerland we checked the weather every day to see what day would be best to go to Zermatt.... More

We visited Zermatt and rode the Gornergrat cogwheel train to get a closer view. It is spectacular on a clear day. We hear about the clouds rolling in but that did not happen for us. It was beautiful!

We arrived by vehicle at the city of Tasch (btw the ride up has some amazing mountain views, rivers flowing off the moutain and snow resedue) to park the car and take a train up for chf 16 both ways. At the top we were at the city of Zermatt, beautiful! There are electric taxis that can drive you around... More

Our friends love hiking and so we choose one week in Zermatt. The surroundings are breathtaking but this comes at a price: Accommodation in Zermatt is among the most expensive in Switzerland. Zermatt is a car-free village. Therefore we choose Täsch , which has connection with Zermatt by the frequent shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. You can be... More

Due to travelling around Europe in the summer of 2013, we attempted to travel through Switzerland on a "budget". With this in mind we stayed at the village of Tasch, the last stop accessible by car. Parking is available at the train station 24/7 which is also the place where you will access Zermat, a car-free zone, via the local... More

There are plenty of restaurants to go to in the evening from Japanese to traditional Swiss. There is a fantastic cinema and cocktail bar called Vernissage something which should not be missed.

Take the Kliene Matterhorn cable car to first stage, and & go the to hotel, especially lunchtime, 12 - 2, for a great live music group. For Country Rock & 60/70s fans it is a must do, 3 great musicians, happy to talk to guests and play requests. Not loud, just super sound - we stayed to the end of... More

We have skied extensively in North America. We were told we had to try Zermatt. Frankly, it was not worth the cost and inconvenience. The skiing is no better, maybe not as good, as Vail, Tahoe, Beaver Creek, etc. The scenery is nice and very unique. However, most disappointing was the apres ski and other activities in Zermatt. Other than... More

It is a great resort surrounded by high mountains, the air is incredible, the weather was great (31 dec- 3 jan 2013), nice chalets and hotels all over. Except the fact that everything is more expensive , i find no fault to Zermatt. Major plus is that the slopes doesnt look crowded and you dont need to queu. One minus:... More
