Zermatt is so lovely with its quaintness and its views of the Matterhorn. Take the mountain train up to Gornegrat for a closer view and a hot chocolate.Spotted 8 marmots on route up to Gornegrat Buy a dancing marmot to take home or even a yodeling mug. Had the most delicious fondue. All very touristy but fantastic. Second time I... More

I would said Matterhorn is the most amazing peak in Switzerland, it has made the skyline of It surrounding areas become amazing.

Very nice experience of mountain excursion. The place is not as popular as Mt Titlis and Jungfraujoch among the tourists but its worth visiting the place.

Visited Zermatt through a crystal holiday excursion on June 3rd, a wonderful day out, one of the reasons for visiting Lake Maggiore, was the opportunity to see the Matterhorn. The excursion is a full day, about £70 per person, but in our opinion, well worth it. The trip takes you from Maggiore lakeside up through the Simplon Pass, which at... More

Staff should have told us not to waste our time and money going to the summit and saw nothing up there. Expensive ride . The fact that the rides were open led us to believe it was worth going up to the summit.

When it is out, it is spectacular! We got lucky to see it because there were people in town who had waited 3 days to see it. It is an expensive crap shoot if you go to just to see the Matterhorn. Your dream may or not come true.

Just a brilliantly spectacular iconic mountain in full view of the eastern side of Zermatt. Well worth the journey especially if you travel in style on the world famous Glacier Express train up to Zeermatt

About a 20 minute train ride from Zermat. We enjoyed the wonderful sights all along the way, and there was a small bird on the train. He/she seemed to know how to "buckle up" for the rough patches, very interesting. Whatever you do, do NOT lose your train ticket, as you will need it to enter and exit the turnstiles.... More

Pristine location. Snow and ice are fantastic. The skiing is great. Two uphill trains to take - one from opposite the station and one a ten minute walk away. Both are really great.

Almost missed the most famous landmark because of cloudy, rainy weather, but got finally see it from the Gornergrat. It is beautiful, even more so with some of the cloud layers.
