The Matterhorn is so magnificent that I kept thinking about it and it is one of the main highlights on my visit to Zermatt. I didn't climb it of course as you need to be fully trained and have very good mountain climbing skills. Its just such an Amazing mountain, with its almost triangle shape. Loved looking at it again... More

The majestic Matterhorn. Reminded me of the lonely mountain from JRR Tolkien's "The Hobbit". Worth taking the long train ride from Zurich. The views were ecstatic and we had a nice but strenuous hike on our way down from the Gornergrat station.

When the clouds parted, we felt like we were in heaven. The Matterhorn was spectacular! Absolutely one of the highlights of all of our travels.

Wow! What a view! It was clear as a bell and looms over the town. This is the reason to come to Zermatt.

Our Matterhorn-view room at the Coeur Des Alpes just made us want to see more of this beautiful mountain. It's stunning in all lights - from fiery sunrise through to clouds wreathing it halfway down, but with the peak still showing. It's as good as you think it will be.

We were fortunate to have clear skies for our visit to Zermatt. The views of the Matterhorn are everwhere. In the evening there was a small amount of cloud streaming off the side giving it a mysterious look, early in the morning it glowed and during the day it stood proud. So much better in real life than in pictures.

It's one of the highest point in Switzerland where you can see the snow mountains, even higher than Jungfrajoch's observation deck. After going up, I can have 360 degree to all the mountain ranges surrounding Zermatt. For those who'd been to Jungfrajoch's glacier cave before, I suggest you can skip Matterhorn Glacier Paradise if you don't have time. There're ski... More

We hiked to Schonbielhutte and back, which gave us outstanding views of the Matterhorn from a different angle. You get an unbeatable view of the glaciers on and around the Matterhorn, and the back side of it is a unique panorama unlike anything I have seen. Be warned that it is a long and pretty serious hike. We were carrying... More

The Matterhorn stands there like a wizard overlooking his valley. I would love to be there for a fiery sunset with just a whisp of a cloud passing by.

The train journey to Gornergrat . The 360 degree snow capped mountains from Gornergrat The sheer isolation and the steepness of the mountain is quite awe inspiring. The tuft of clouds surrounding the peak adds an element of mystique.
