Great mountain views and first class skiing. Expensive in all respects but worth it for the stunning scenery.

Visiting the Matterhorn was way more impressive than I could have imagined. It's HUGE. Also very cold: it was about 10C/50F when we visited (an unusual cold snap), and at the top it was full-blown winter. You have to take the cable car and funicular up, and that's a trip in itself. We were visiting in mid-summer so the crowds... More

It's very expensive to stay in Zermat, but the city and Matterhorn were amazing. We hiked some routes around Matterhorn and loved it. The landscapes with trees, lakes and mountains were unforgettable.

Fabulous views but minus 30 wind chill at the top on the Glacier. Ok Zermatt is a lovely place but I was disappointed for two reasons..... Firstly the queue to buy an International lift pass was over 90 mins long on Saturday November 29 - unacceptable in a place like Zermatt - also at 97 swiss francs when the Swiss... More

Though things are expensive but it is a nice place to visit. The downtown consists with many restaurants, hotels, shops which are pretty convenient for the trip.

We took cable car to get to the peak point which is 4,467m above the sea level. It was stunning view from the top, so cold but it was great experience we've ever had at the glacier alps.

Zermatt is the quintessential swiss alpine town. here you will find the Matterhorn and can ski to your hearts content. it is also touted as a gastronomical capital in Switzerland. this is true if you compare to a) the rest of Switzerland and/or b) the usual food you will find in a ski lodge. but if you mean REAL gastronomical,...
