This was one of our favourites. The most amazing view and we took the Gronergrat Railway up to get a better view. We had clear skies and it was so breathtaking. At the top, you can walk to a building where they have souvenir shops and you can get some food.

loved everything about the area. We are not skiers. We got married there 33 years ago because it was the most romantic place in the world. NO CARS allowed....pristine, clean air.

My dream of visiting Matterhorn is no longer a dream anymore. Just feeling great to be able to see Matterhorn on my birthday. It is so fascinating, spectacular and awesome just to see Matterhorn with your own eyes. We took the gornegrat train up to see Matterhorn. Scenery along the way was magnificent and the weather during winter was perfect... More

Zermatt is a small town with no gas poeered enginss allowed and only accesible via train. The skiing is incredible and the views fantastic. One of the best places Ive ever been.

The Matterhorn is perhaps one of the most iconic mountains of the Swiss alps and you would be correct if you think that it will be full of tourists. Zermatt's a relatively small place but is always bustling with activity. And for good reason, the Matterhorn is a fantastic backdrop for your skiing holidays and always a great photo opportunity.

The Matterhorn is a spectacular mountain. I knew it from pictures and films but to see it first hand is really amazing. There is something captivating about the mountain and no matter how many times you see it you are always impressed. We were in Zermatt for a short skiing holiday and were lucky as it was sunny. You can... More

what an amazing mountain - I fell in love with the mountain but not cold. Went up the rail way so far but it was too late in the day to get off and walk around - my fault

The Matterhorn is 4478m high and you can see it almost anywhere you go around Zermatt. Viewing it from your hotel, taking a railway ride by Gornergrat Bahn reaching 3089m high or cablecar ride by Matterhorn Glacier Paradise reaching 3883m high. You can see it from different angles, from sunrise to sunset, it's just so spectacular.

We were fortunate to have spectacular views of the Matterhorn considering 2014s cool summer. We found out from a local that, by September, it is a black face, ready for all those rock climbers. For us, early September, we experienced a winter white Matterhorn.
