Very enjoyable train ride providing wonderful views of Zermatt and the Matterhorn (if you have a fine day).
A trip worth exploring. Get yourself a peak pass and you are able to take the train to the top - Gornergrat (30 min train ride) and see the magnificent mountains the Swiss Alps have to offer. The train is clean and comfortable and it stops at a couple stations before taking up right up to the top. If you... More
This is truly an experience! To ride a cog railway for the first time is something both fastanating and interesting. The Swiss know how to do Rail well. The price was reasonable, they are on time, and the cars are clean. Once you get to the top the view of The Matterhorn is truly breathtaking. Don't go to Zermantt without... More
Take the Gornergrat Bahn all the way up for STUNNING views of the area. You won't regret it! You can see 29 peaks of more than 4,000m with 360 degree views. All the beauty is hard to take in. Bring binoculars to spot hikers climbing the peaks of the closer mountains. Along with Mont Blanc this was the highlight of... More
One of the pleasant ride in Zermatt, is the Gornergrat Bahn. Take the train and enjoy the ride to Riffelalp, Skiing and enjoy it in good and bad weather.
Our hotel advised to go up the Gornergrat Bahn rather than to the Matterhorn glacier due to bad weather on the Matterhorn. It was a wonderful trip and the view of the Matterhorn was awesome. Tons and tons of snow, mountain peaks and glaciers. Sledding was amazing. Make sure you take sunglasses and keep an eye open for the weather... More

It is long and seems like 30 minutes is precious time to spend sitting in a train but it was worth it. (Going up to Sunnegga... More
pleasant mountain ride of 30 minutes bottom to top, wonderful view, suitable for the none skier in your group
The Gornergrat Bahn is a brilliant way of getting high for clear views towards the Matterhorn and also toward Monte Rosa. There is a Handy Café at the Hotel for refreshment and the views are well worth it. A word of warning. Pick your moment, especially in the Winter. If it's snowing, the visibility drops away, and so does the... More
