We enjoyed the train ride very much. There was stunning scenery both on the way and at the turn-around point.

The train journey up was super, with beautiful views over Zermatt moving into stunning mountain-scapes. Though snowy was perfectly warm with the sunshine. Good coffee and stunning views at the top. Definately worth the trip out if you are not skiing the slopes for your whole trip.

I love the various views from the Gornergrat Bahn. On a clear day, the view of the Matterhorn can't be beat. I also love seeing the glaciers and the Monte Rosa. There are often St. Bernard dogs here for a great photo op. If you feel like hiking, you can walk down a station or two and get back on... More

Before buying your ticket you can see what the weather is like at the top. Thr price is hefty but the views were amazing. The whole family was impressed.

A must-do in Zermatt! The summit easily offered the best view of the Matterhorn. The ride up to Gornergrat was simply breathtaking and it was certainly well worth every penny spent. If you have the Swiss Pass, the return trip costs CHF 38 (50% reduction). Climb to the viewing platform when you reach the 'summit' for even more beautiful views.... More

Though almost everything is expensive at Zermatt, I did enjoy it to the max very place I visited, stayed and ate there. Just awesome natural views of mountain alps, forests, lake.. I hope to visit there again in the future.

We took the train up in the am and the views were amazing from all vantage points. We also enjoyed a terrific fondue at the restaurant on the out door patio. Spend a few extra dollars and skip the cafeteria lunch, instead opt for the table service. Enjoyed a great afternoon walk down!

I had the day free in Zermatt to explore the wonderful alpine environment in the summertime. After visiting the local tourism office I decided to take a trip to the top of the Gornergrat via the Gornergrat Railway (Bahn), and I'm very glad I did. Return tickets were purchased (Approx AUD$90) very easily from teh kiosk at the lower station.... More

The view from the top of Gornergrat was beautiful and well-worth the trip. It was the off-season so a number of the amenities were closed and train service was infrequent; if you wanted to spend more than twenty minutes at the peak, you were committing to spend at least two hours up there. The ticket for a return trip to... More
