Visited Zermatt doubting weather but the sun came out right on time to reveal the beauty. Gornergrat is a must do. A great train ride with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Ticket office is rght opposite the Zermatt station. Dont forget to sit on the right on the train. Also the restaurant at the top is decently priced for... More

A must go for all the people who love nature and enjoy the beauty of it. Situated bit far away from center and a relatively small village. But it's charming. You can take the cable car to the top of the hill. You can lose yourself in the village market. You can sit and/or walk by the river. Just lose... More

The view through the journey to gornergrat is simply breath taking. If you have budget and time i really recommend you to take the trip. There are other station that you can visit before reaching Gornergrat( you only just pay once, then you can visit all station for going and returning ticket) The staff in the train is very friendly.... If you are in Zermatt, you need to see Mt. Rosa and the Matterhorn. What better way to go up to 10,000 ft by cog railroad to an outlook that is in a direct line view? Allow 1-2 hours for the view and a beer or cocoa.

The trains run quite often so they're easy to catch. But beware, towards the end of the day the shops/restaurant at the top will be closed and the last train only allows your 15 minutes to look around before it leaves for the base. The ride was also expensive and the service people are about average. But still, you're in... More

An enjoyable ride up the mountain but very expensive at 86CHF for a one hour round trip. This compares with 100CHF for the 4 hour beautiful train ride from Geneva Airport to Zermatt. We had a 4 day ski pass at the end of the ski season. Tried to use it on the 4th day to be told we couldn't... More

The Gornergratbahn offers the best scenery in Zermatt. You cannot see Monte Rosa (highest mountain in Switzerland) better than this. The train is a bit slow which adds to the possibility of photography along its path and is topped by the final station which opens on a breathtaking view. This was my second visit there and it was well worth... More

The Gornergrat Bahn is opposite the railway station and departs every half hour. If you are travelling with a Swiss pass they will give you 50% discount. The train takes about 30 mins to get to the top and you can get off and back on at the various stations along the way. If the weathers good you get a... More
