There are some pretty spectacular views from the top of the Gornergrat, and even the journey up there gives you some amazing panoramas of the mountain range. There isn't that much to do up there though apart from look for a bit. I'd suggest combining it with a ski pass - the last ride down is 20:00 so you could... More

There are many wonderful views. If you are able you will get more out of this is you can walk down part way. Some parts are a bit steep and you need good shoes. Also stop on the way down at Rifelalp. Walk over to the little train tracks and follow them about 500 yards to where the hotels are.... More

The train offers access to spectacular access to a panorama of high alpine scenery on clear days. It is part of the winter ski lift service but access for skiers is rather slow

Very comfortable way to get up among the peaks around Zermatt, especially if you are pressed for time. Better to hike down than to hike uphill! We hiked down to the Gornergletscher and back from the Roten Boden stop. Enjoyed this more than going to the top of Klein Matterhorn (being a non-skier).

Most visitors to Zermatt will make the trip up to the Gornergratt, not least for the stunning views of the Matterhorn and surrounding mountains. We knew there was a restaurant at the top, but being Switzerland/Zermatt and mountain-top we expected sky-high prices to match, so took our sandwiches up with us!! We did enjoy our food sat on deep snow... More

When in Zermatt I personally think this is the most comfortable way to get to the top of the slopes without walking too much, standing or being squeezed .So take this nice train ,sit down and relax, look outside and feel a bit to go back in the years....When at the top the views are great and from there you can easily... There are few better places to view the upper mountains than from the top of this train, unless you are up for some pretty strenuous hiking. The train journey delights, and the large windows on the train ensure an excellent view regardless of what seat you are in. It is pricey, though - but that's to be expected in this... More

In order to use up our pre purchased round ticket pass for Gornergrat, we hopped on the last run leaving Zermatt around 19:30. After full day of skiing, we were a bit tired and were not very excited with this last agenda for the day.. In fact, it is ridiculous for those who stay in Zermatt to look for Gornergrat... More

Great trainride up the mountains to Gornergrat on 3089m with incredible views over Matterhorn and the souranding mountain tops. But with 70 francs roundtrip it was a bit stiff the price. The best attraction in Zermatt.

I forgot a sunglass at the station in zermatt and when i arrived at the next station i talked to a man who works at the company. He said that nothing could be done and he wouldn't talk to anyone at the station where i forgot it. The same happened at the information desk of the station. No one tried... More
