If the skies are clear, it's great. If the clouds settle in, you'll be disappointed. More

Going up 5,000 feet from Zermatt , to 10.000 feet in about 40 minutes through snow covered montain slopes is just awe inspiring and exhilarating. Views of gorges, ski runs, and snow covered "Christmas trees" were unforgettable. More

Gornergrat train climbs almost 1500m to 3,089 m above sea level. The Gornergrat is a ridge overlooking the Gorner Glacier to the south and amazing view of more than 20 four thousand meters peaks. A must to visit if you stay in Zermatt! Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway – tunliweb.no More

Train gives you great views of the Matterhorn without the altitude sickness and crowds of the cable cars. You will not, however, get the stupendous views of the highest cable car in Europe. More

A fantastic train trip in either summer or winter. With the lift system interconnected the Gonergrat is a great way to start your ski day even if your destination is Rothorn or Klein Matterhorn (not recommended to get to Italy). More

This was a great train which took you all the way to the top of the Gonergrat and gave easy access to skiing and to the Restaurant and Observatory at the top. The train was so clean. The Swiss people must be really proud of it unlike trains in the UK More
