The paradise for families. From Zermatt, you reach Sunnegga (2,288 m. above sea level) in only 4.5 minutes with the underground funicular. At Leisee lake, families can enjoy an adventure playground with attractive barbecue areas. Take a refreshing dip in the lake, or play Robinson Crusoe as you cross the water on a wooden raft attached to a cable that spans the lake. Off to the land of adventure!

In summer there's nothing much to do on Sunnegga except hiking & biking, of course with some people eating up here. But the thing is there is a place called Wolli Park by a lift from Sunnegga, that was a nice place! Since I could see people swimming & playing at the lake, and having picnics next to the lake,... What amazing children's facilities - the lake, the raft, the playground . All right there! My kids did not want to leave! After we started our hike here, we walked down to Chez vrony for a wonderful meal - and they had a bouncy house for the kids. Made this Zermatt hike very family friendly!

This area has a small lake and has been made family friendly with 2 funiculars taking you to and from the station, you operate these yourself. People were swimming and paddling in the lake, but beware it will be very cold. There is also a raft which children can pull themselves across the lake on, this is in shallow water.... More

On the cable car on the way up, we finally saw some wildlife in the Alps---we saw the goats that have black fur in front and white fur in back. We had intensions to ride up and walk down, hoping to make it to the Grinsee to see the reflection of the Matterhorn in the lake. But my husband was... More

Review is from a mountain biker. At first good views from Sunnegga and mountain bike trail easy to find. However there is only one route which ranges from very difficult (double black diamond) to professional along the single route downhill. Portion of the track at 1 star (very difficult) were closed and therefore was forced to walked down the professional... More

We hiked from Zermatt to Sunnegga at the beginning of May, with the Matterhorn in view almost the whole time. The trail was well traveled and marked with benches at certain intervals. Along the trail we passed through tiny villages with goats that were grazing. The trail was so picturesque it is hard to do it justice in this description.The... More

We did a hiking from Riffelalp to Sunnegga and from Sunnegga we took a cable cart back to Zermatt. It was a 3 hours track from Riffelalp to Sunnegga. Cable Carts at Sunnegga enabled us to reach Zermatt comfortably after 3 hours of hiking in the mountains.

We picked a fine day and just went for it. Nothing much to do there. Just a restaurant and they'd run out of sandwich snacks! But the peacefulness of just sitting on the terrace sipping coffees with the Matterhorn in front of us bathed in sunshine was superb.

The trip is through a tunnel in the rock at a 30 degree angle, so there are no views but it is an impressive trip. The view up on top is magnificent and definetly worth the trip. The Matterhorn is gorgeous from there.
