Besides the spacious cable car, adventurous and well-maintained hiking trails lead you up to the summit on 3,103 m.a.s.l. On the top, you enjoy a breathtaking view over the surrounding peaks, with a lot of them reaching above 4,000 metres. The "Peak collection" exhibition helps you find the most stunning summits. « less

Starting point to the highest hiking trail in Europe and the views you get are something to remember... I also had a delicious soup at the Rothorn restaurant at the end of the hike, which I will remember for a while as it was super delicious.

We have visited Rothorn in the past and found the views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks marvellous. Unfortunately on our recent visit,June 18th - June 28th the cable car was not open for business. It may be worthwhile considering this when planning a visit to this area. All the high lifts may not be running early in the season

love the place, good food but super slow. Be sure to not be in a hurry because its going to be a long lunch. But the food is great and worth the wait and the view is also awesome

Great for skiing, so many different pistes and tele cabins, chairlifts! Wonderful snow conditions, sunny on south side, less people on north side.

A wonderful area reached via the Sunnega train, Blauherd chair/gondola and then the cable car up to Rothorn. Well worth the 3 lift start as the skiing is fabulous when you get to the top. You can find yourself as the only skier on some runs and it's worth stopping to appreciate the silence of the mountains before someone else... More

Sunnenga lift has been totally refurbished in 2013 so the long tunnel walk is now on cushioned floor and much improved. The new, bigger, tunnel shuttle seems quicker and with less queues. Other lifts as before. Runs are generally wide, properly graded and with well prepared pistes. Flualp is the best lunch stop!

Rothorn is easily reached from Zermatt by underground funicular railwas to Sunnega, than by cable cars to Blauherd and to Unter Rothorn. From here, you can see the Matterhorn from its most beautiful side, the Dufourspitze and the Weisshorn. Special item of interest here is the "Peak Collection" exhibition around the pleasant Restaurant Rothorn. The Rothorn Restaurant towers majestically on the... More

Before going to Zermatt, it was difficult to figure out if we wanted to go to the top of Rothorn peak when there were two other peaks competing for our money and time. We spent three full, sunny days in Zermatt, and wound up going up all three peaks, and I have to say that I was very happy we... More

Take the gondola up from the town of Zermatt to Rothorn Paradise and sip a delicious hot chocolate in the restaurant. The scenery is amazing!
