Took the cable car up to the Schwarzee beneath the Matterhorn. Stopped at the Hotel Monte Rosa for refreshments. Met the manager - a displaced Irishman who has lived in Zermatt for 16 years. Left Schwarzee and hiked back down the mountain to Zermatt about 5 hours including lunch in Zmutt.

I'm scared of heights and the ride up wasn't fun but it was all worth it at the top! Views were spectacular and air was so fresh. Going into the glacier with all the ice sculptures was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend this excursion.

The multiple cable car journey to the top is exciting and has excellent panoramic views. The glacier itself has beautiful ice sculptures and is complete with an ice throne and regal costumes for you to pose for a good old touristy photo. We went in poor weather meaning that it was very quiet, however I can imagine that it gets... More

If you're scared of heights, you'd better close your eyes on the way up! But what awaits you at the top makes the ride worth the while... 3000+ m high and you've reached heaven. All you can see around you are snow covered peaks for miles and miles. The tube ride just outside the building is so much fun and... More

It was a long journey from Arona lake maggiore with a coach that took us to tash. From there we took a train to zermatt. Than we climbed to the peak of matternhorn mountain with the gondola. An amazing breath taken view of the mountain with snow was awaiting for us. Wonderful experience worth the 3 hours long journey. We... More

Matterhorn is the highest Peak ( 4400 meters approx ) in Swiss and is a must visit. You also get to see the engineering marvel of the cable cars taking you to the top. Snow fun activities and hiking options are countless. It is a must visit. TIP : Do carry a jacket/jumper, it might get cold on top. The... More

The glacier paradise was pretty cool. Walked through the ice sculptures a little, and went to the top to see everything, but it was all white! Cloudy morning, so we couldn't see anything. Also, it was quite a bit colder up there. We brought a light layer jacket, but should have brought another! We went down and did a 4... More
