It's brilliant to be inside a glacier!

You go right down into the glacier and there are the most amazing ice carvings, including an ice slide! Great fun. Clever lighting provides a magical atmosphere.

Not to be missed Swiss efficiency! The Swiss side has narrow, almost catwalk width skiing. Not many difficult runs so good for abilities. The runs are long and mainly green/ light blue in terms of US Rockies. Italy side the runs are wider and more like US Rocky Mountain. The food and drinks are far, far superior to US mountain... During our trip to Zermatt we bought tickets to go up the different ski lifts, which included Glacier Paradise. To get up there it requires going on about 4 different ski-lifts and takes about 45 minutes total. Once we got up there it was empty, cold, and nothing to do. In fact that, it was so windy at the top... More

The higher you go - the better views one has of all the mountains and the glaciers .....it's amazing the engineering that the Swiss have towers that guide the chair lifts in a moving glacier .... Think about it - and they have to make adjustments every so often to keep things lined up .... I went snowboarding down from... More

Amazing place for picturesque views and mountain lovers. One can really enjoy views of Matterhorn and ... sometimes Mont Blanc. Some people may experience blood pressure or uneasy breathing feeling due to the altitude. There is nice restaurant on top, as well as the panorama view, where one can make pictures. Sometimes people queue for 1 - 1,5 hours to... More

Took a cog wheel train up to the glacier. Stopping along the way to snap some photos as designated stops that the train driver stops at. This is because the view at the top can be foggy. We were lucky that the view from the top was fantastic.......the clearest day they had for a long time. We visited during summer,... More

Went up as part of a skiing trip staying in Zermatt, tried to do a different bit of the mountain each day. Took about an hour to get up from town (we had access to all lifts with our 'all areas' lift pass from Crystal Ski) and the view at the top was STUNNING. We then had a hot chocolate... More

The Mattherhorn is one of the most beautiful mountains I've ever seen. It has a got a majesty and charm that take your breath away. There is something for everyone to do, ranging from little kids to seniors.

This is a place that is a must in Zermatt. Before buy try to check the package first before buy separated. Usually it is cheaper the package.

At first we were not going to do this because of it is expensive but when the ticket agent told us it was half price with a Swiss rail pass we were sold. Loved the trip and be prepared to get a little light headed at altitude. For a cheap buzz have a drink at the top!
