We went to Zermatt in the summer via Geneva airport. Geneva airport is not an especially pleasant place, but the train to Visp leaves right from the airport which is very convenient. From Visp, transfer trains to Zermatt. The journey, after Geneva, took around 4 hours. It is possible to get off the train at nearly any stop to take... More

Whether you are going skiing or just going for the view, you cannot go to Zermatt and not go all the way up to the Ski paradise.

Since we had a wonderful time I'll get the bad stuff over with first. It's is unreasonably expensive. You know when it's not a case of affordability just that it is expensive; food, internal electric taxis, cable cars, the whole shebang. I'm not going to say the experience wasn't worth it because we had a great time but just be... More

Zermatt is indeed a ski paradise, lovely pistes for everyone, experts and beginners. Restaurants to relax and enjoy the view, have a hot cup of chocolate and continue skiing.

After travelling by cable car to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, I was greeted by a blast of chilly air as I disembarked. The views from here were nothing I had ever experienced as this was the first time I had been over 3000 feet above sea level. Here I was at nearly 13000. Views towards Italy, Summer skiing and snow... More

First of all, It is a bit of a journey to reach this "no vehicles" mountain villa by train, so carry snacks and drinks. once you arrive. In the morning, take advantage of the hearty breakfasts offered each day as you will need the calories to enjoy the day. There are tiny electric vehicles that shuttle you around but most... More

We showed up in July and, spur-of-the-moment, decided we wanted to ski. These guys set all four of us up with everything from skis to helmets and even jackets, gloves and trousers! The service was great and the prices were reasonable. It made for a very memorable day!
