Castor is higher and more impressive

We climbed Castor and looked down on Piollox, which is basically old rock. We saw a number of rockfalls as we climbed

THIS REVIEW WAS FOR THE PINTE. The salad seemed to have been through a chopping machine. Although it was a large plateful it was not very appetising. The soup was oversalted. The spaghetti with mushrooms was Ok but was a little oily and under spiced. The pork chop had a sauce that did not give the impression of home cooking.... More

This place is an oasis, if an oasis can have a warm fire and a cosy chair. The beer is excellent and all the drinks are reasonably priced with nibbles and crisps thrown in The excellent bar staff all speak English.

We dropped in for dinner with no reservation and were fortunate to get a great table in a back cubby away from the grill fire (which is probably the preferred seating area in Winter!) as it was the tail end of a very warm day and it was quiet and nice. We had some good Austrian house wine, and enjoyed... More

The upstairs restaurant (since the recent redecoration) has lost a lot of it's charm and now resembles more of a "cookie-cutter" Zermatt restaurant rather than the old-style stube. The food quality remains the same, but the service is now bordering on poor (downstairs is an absolute shambles and should be avoided at all costs). There are far better places to... More

Decided to experience our first 'fondue' at Pollux and we were not disappointed. The staff were welcoming, pleasant and happy to explain various aspects of the menu to us. The food was exception and plentiful, difficult to finish in fact because the portions were so generous. Great value for money, we would happily recommend Pollux to other visitors.

Friendly efficient service by waitress who seems to speak every language. Choice of breads, heaps of pickles for free and very generous portions of excellent home dried meat and fondue.
