Enjoyed boat ride across the lake to a restaurant.

We took a boat ride across the lake to a marvelous restaurant with our tour group. The restaurant seemed out of the way until we docked beside it.

Lugano lake is calm and beautiful. We took a boat ride from Lugano Paradiso to the old village of Gandria, very ancient with a nice pedestrian walk that leads back to Lugano through a wonderful landscape and olive trees. The boats take to several different villages. You can also stop to visit a museums. In Lugano there are interesting shops,... More

Great place to visit. Beautiful area with a ton of things to do all around the lake. Get a Ticino Pass and hop around the lake by ferry all day long!

The lake of Lugano is a very deep and calm lake. It can be stormy but most of the time the lake is nice. The City Lugano is close to the lake and the view is beautiful.

Walked to the public beach from our hotel. Left all valuables in safe and brought only towels. There is no sandy beach - just a narrow but lengthy bit of rough, pebbly shore. Beautiful park is free. Getting in the water is tricky with lots of rocks so keep water shoes or sanders on. It gets deep very quickly. Water... More

So peaceful! Take the tour and explore the other little towns, like Gandria. Really clean. Check out the lido and go for a swim. The water is surprisingly warm :)

We stayed in Ascona as we thought we would prefer a more "holiday, laid back" feel; but when we saw Lugano we regretted our decision. With the steep slopes coming down to the lake, similar to Luzern, Lake Lugano was gorgeous. I wish we had stayed there.

I can't imagine it's possible to visit Lugano without being drawn to the lake. It's so beautiful I couldn't stop staring at it or photographing it. Set amidst the hills and mountains of the Swiss-Italian border, the lake sparkles at their base. The main town of Lugano is built along the lake's shoreline, but there are also a few communities... It's hard to find a more beautiful destination in the area. Stroll along the Lugano waterfront or take a ferry around the lake
