This is a beautiful and an excellent place to visit during the year! Lugano is a modern city, with beautiful people and good food.
Really amazing views from the top. Go on a clear day and don't miss climbing to the roof of the church and you'll be rewarded by 360d breathtaking views, the beauty is dizzying. Near the station is a small cafe and a nice playground to occupy the kids while waiting for your ride down. Check the schedule because after 18:00... More
No reduced price even for a 10 year old. Unhelpful (rude) male staff member at cashier office- We walked to the next town and back up the hill again and enjoyed the autumn trees and fog.
Great restaurant when you alight from the funicular. Walking up to the church and then upstairs to the rooftop viewing area was absolutely amazing. The 360 degrees view was stunning.
Finding the funicular up to San Salvatore proved difficult. This part of switzerland meets with southern side of the Italian borders; and apart from being one of the most cleanest countries in the world it has various and amazing sites to indulge yourself, such as boat rides on to Lake Como and many more. My favourite was taking the funicular (mountain train) to the top of this beautiful scenic... More
Having the Ticino Discovery Card is well worth the money! A funicular takes you up to the top of the mountain where there is a great view of Lake Lugano. A walk up to the church at the top is worth climbing the stairs for a fantastic view of Lugano, the lake and everything else it has to offer. Stopping... More
Take the funicular "cable car" up the mountain for a spectacular view of the lake and area. Then take a short walk up to the very top and see the church and additional views. Restaurant also located just above cable car to enjoy a beer or glass of wine
