The best thing about this castle is that it is so easily reachable from the city center. Furthermore, it contains a tower, and from up there you've got a great view on the other 2 castles as well as Castelgrande itself. When we visited the castle, we didn't have to pay to mount the tower since there was noone to... More

Easy access, very nice variety in the castle and easy to see more, although I wasn't driving the winding roads! Definitely worth the trip from Lake Maggiore. Very interestingly portrayed history of an interesting little region

I've never toured castles completely alone but did so here. It was quiet, lovely and well worth a visit to each of the 3 separate castles. There was no one there even to collect an admission fee.

The castles are a must. Pay once and go to all three. I suggest walking to absorb the beauty from one castle to another.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon and I wandered around until I found a staircase and ended up going up a tower and exploring the castle grounds and wall. I never once saw anyone who looked like they worked there and signage was minimal. There is a museum and restaurant but I didn't visit either. The museum costs 5 CHF... More

You can visit three castles which are open every day in Bellinzona - Castelgrande, Castello Montebello and Castello Sasso Corbaro. There is a ticket for all 3 castles, museums, courts and towers but entry to the inner court of Castelgrande is free and was open from 9 am to 10 pm. I travelled with a group of friends in October,... More

Happened to have a friend reunion therefore chose the best restaurant in town. Castelgrande offers amazing food, sourced locally, cooked with finesse and passion, manager and chef are just exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed food and wine. Risotto, venison meat, cold cuts are just some of the food sampled. Definitely, this is the best place in Bellinzona.
