Nice restaurant at top with wonderful glacier views

Take a gondola ride up and enjoy beautiful views. Hang out at the restaurant for a hot cocoa and soak it in. Train stops at limited times so plot ahead.

The drive up the mountain is best suited for an auto with some horsepower as it is very steep. Once there or along side the road you will have some great photo ops.

We have visited St. Moritz in Aug and we also travelled uphill by cable car to view the glaciers at Diavolezza as well. For locals and some visitors, they just walked uphill via the meandering hillpath. Mountains at Diavolezza were about 2093-2978M high and whether you could see beautiful glaciers there would depend on weather. When we arrived uphill, it... More

After getting off the cableway continue abit higher (follow the sign and trail) to Saas Queder. There you will get a better view, including towards Lagalp and beyond. Try getting an early morning start to avoid the 10 AM plus crowds. Enjoy and take lots of pictures.

It was spectacular up there! Due to the limited amount of time, I could only hiked for a little more than an hour, which was OK, because I started to feel mountain sickness after hiking for a while. I was moving too fast. You must get up there to experience the glory of Swiss Alps. I had lunch at the... More

The cableway really takes you up to the glaciers, including beautiful view into the valley. Short easy walks possible from station at the top. Nice hike to Punt Mers, there you have spectacular view onto the glacier of Morteratsch. Keep in mind, that this hike takes place in high alpine area - good shoes are a must, as well as... More

When you get down from Muottas Muragl, walk from Punt Muragl Talstation to Punt Muragl Staz which is a 4 min walk. From there catch an R train towards Tirano and after 4 stops get down at Bernina Diavolezza. Mind you this is a request stop so after the 4th stop press the green button or else you might miss... nice views of the glaciers and surrounding peaks. Dining options at the top help to pass time if the view is obstructed by clouds and you wish to wait it out.
