Lovely houses and nice shops and cafes

Here you can visit all day long those nice little shops and cafes. Close to museums and churches and the cathedral, which is just very old and interesting.

Cute little pedestrian street in the Old Town of Chur. It is cobblestone & the buildings are typical of Alstadt buildings all over Switzerland. Nice little shops. When we were there we ate at Da Mama ---- a nice little cafe & restaurant with limited menu (but excellent food & good price) in Oberegasse 35. Also when we were there,... More

The Old Town is beautiful and clean with interesting architecture. There were a number of small and interesting shops that were not big name franchises.

Collection of a variety of stores and in a pedestrian friendly zone - spend some time wandering around here and taking in the history.

Just a small Street in the old Town of Chur. Nothing special. End of August one of many places for the "Churer Fest".

the Obere Gasse has a lot of boutique kind of shops and restaurants/Cafe. The area is not accessible for cars so a nice walk checking out the stores and the very old buildings. In the summer on Saturday morning is the local market that sells products from the area not to be missed. Also around Christmas the Christmas Market is... More

If in the area, this is a must-see. Beautiful buildings, with mountains as a backdrop. Photographs that frame themselves between alleys of cobblestone streets. We had the pleasure of being there around Christmas time, and the understated decorations were absolutely enchanting--coming from the USA where the giant inflatables and over-the-top lighting has taken over, it was nice to have such... We stopped over in Chur, the oldest settlement in Switzerland on the way from St Moritz to Lucerne. We heard about Obere Gasse (Old Town) so we decided to take a look. It's not too far from the train station. Exit towards the South and walk up the street you see in a Southerly direction for about 15 minutes. We... More
