Switzerland is a very expensive place. Even though Bread & Breakfast and Food is as costly as any other country in Europe, the sightseeing bit turns out to be extremely expensive. Schilthorn was the most affordable mountain peak that we could manage to find in this place. The journey from Interlaken to Schilthorn costs some CHF 90 per person. Its... more

We were torn between the Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn on a spare day in Interlaken, in the end I suppose the price made the difference (116.60SF Schilthorn, 181.80SF Jungfraujoch full prices at March 09) as there were 3 of us. if your in the interlarken area,the schilthorn is somthing you can not miss!. the views are out of this world, and are breathtaking. but make sure you go up on a clear day to get the best views. if your lucky enough to be ski'ing at the time aswel, the famous "james bond" run down from the "piz gloria" is... more
