There are two major attractions near Meiringen, the Aareschlucht Gorge (which is also well worth a visit) and the Reichenbach Falls. We did not have high expectations for this fall being the fictional setting of Sherlock Holmes' demise, but from the funicular ride up our breath was taken away.
