Visited at the final day of our staying in Grindelwald for hiking. It was not very long ~1.5 hrs but very impressive route! As a desert of our trip. Highly recommended!

We changed trains here and was good place to stretch the legs and buy some chocolate to help us get through the rest of the trip especially when it became quite a bit colder further up the mountain.

This is like an easier version of the Eiger Trail - you will of course not be close enough to the Eiger North wall to touch it, but at least you will have wonderful views towards it. The walk is abt 4 km, gently downhill all the way on a broad path, only good walking shoes and a bottle of... More

Trains are expensive but efficient. I trained from Thun to Grindelwald then changed to the cog rail for the short but steep ascent to Kleine Scheidegg. Take lunch and drinks with you and don't waste time or money going into a café or shop. I hiked up the steep trail to Eigergletscher, or take the tram up, if not trained... More

The train station was very interesting. The east side of a platform was for trains bounced for Wengen. The west side was for trains for Grindelwalt. There were cafés and souvenir shops around the station. The landscape was very good.

Even in rainy drizzly weather, hiking this area was awesome. Up close and personal views of the Eiger. Some of the waterfall crossings are a bit challenging. Catching a small avalanche off of the EIger was a special treat. The wildflowers are in full bloom this time of year as well.

It was beautuful. We ate delicious soup and rosti lunch and we hiked around. We saw huge groups going up to Jung but were denied tickets, yet empty trains were going back up to Jungfrau at 4 pm. Very disappointing since we left hotel at 10 am and took the long way up, due to a rock on the train... More

In late June 2014, we hiked from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg, which was fantastic all the way around. We were told there was snow on the trail a few weeks before that, but the snow was gone from the trail and the flowers were in bloom. When we reached Kleine Scheidegg, we were able to enjoy a nice lunch and... More
