Kleine Sheidegg is less of a destination in and of itself and more of a gateway to other places. Yes there are few vistas here, but it is really a train stop and a trail head. It is the point of change for training up to Jungfrau glacier or your can begin a number of hikes up or down the... More

This is a good place for walking from and there are a lot of walks. Once the three little railways came to the station with its two hotels in the whiles of nowhere. Now the trains are seven coaches long or come in sets of threes just to shift the people. Rather a classic case of tourists overwhelming the place... More

Took the tour with " Best of Switzerland tours " our guide Marcel was always jovial, attentive & very informative. Nothing was too much trouble. The tour itself was just what we expected of Switzerland, Very lucky with the weather, generally sunny, but at times low cloud/ mist which changed the whole aspect of the mountain. Also enjoyed our stop... More

I ran the Jungfrau Marathon which ended at the Kleine Scheidegg. What an amazing view this area offers. I am from Florida and we don't have anything like this. You just have to see it this high up to appreciate the mountain and it's splendor. They have several restaurants and a gift shop. You can also do some hiking if... More

My idea of switzerland is crisp mountain air surrounding study wooden cabins and cows clanging in the backfield. While I realize this is not possible everywhere, Kleine Scheidegg, seeing how it is at the base of the 3 impressive mountains, has more of a tourist trap feel than an alpine rest point.

Visited at the final day of our staying in Grindelwald for hiking. It was not very long ~1.5 hrs but very impressive route! As a desert of our trip. Highly recommended!

We changed trains here and was good place to stretch the legs and buy some chocolate to help us get through the rest of the trip especially when it became quite a bit colder further up the mountain.

This is like an easier version of the Eiger Trail - you will of course not be close enough to the Eiger North wall to touch it, but at least you will have wonderful views towards it. The walk is abt 4 km, gently downhill all the way on a broad path, only good walking shoes and a bottle of... More

Trains are expensive but efficient. I trained from Thun to Grindelwald then changed to the cog rail for the short but steep ascent to Kleine Scheidegg. Take lunch and drinks with you and don't waste time or money going into a café or shop. I hiked up the steep trail to Eigergletscher, or take the tram up, if not trained... More
