Buy a treat from the Backerei, located near the ticket office, then ride the gondola up First, hike to Bachalpsee Lake and soak in the views while you enjoy your pastry. Return to the top of the lift and consider riding the First Flyer zip line down part way and take a trottibike the rest of the way into town.... More

Less than an hour hike. Easy terrain with some elevation gain. Trail is maintained. Lake is beautiful but it is a tourist hotspot. Continue on to one of the many trails for a little less traffic and more nature. Worth the hike.

My husband and I consider ourselves ecotourist. We love to go to places where we can be one on one with nature. Lake Bachalpsee is precisely the place for a close encounter with mother nature. It is a 2 hour hike to get to the lake but the experience is totally worth it. The views are spectacular. We were even... More

It takes around 50 minutes from First to Bachalpsee. The hiking trail is not too difficult. The view is great with reflection of the snowy peak on the lake. We had our lunch there and took some photos before walking back.

I walked up to the lake from first twice in a short period of time, and both times gave me very different but beautiful views. The first time i got the classic view of the snow peaked mountains, with a perfect mirrored reflection, the second time was cloudy but fresh snow had fallen around the lake giving a lovely atmosphere.... An easy 40 min walk from the top of the First cable car. Impressive only if you have a clear sky. You can see all the nice 4,000m peaks. Also if clear, the nearby hills reflect perfectly on the lake. But if weather is cloudy or rainy dont bother coming up. Save it for another day

We've been coming here for years - always delightful and while we were tired when we got there, the views are magnificent

It is very nice hike from First to Lake Bachalpsee, which we covered in 50 mins (one way) as was indicated in the signage. The views are gorgeous!

Suggest to use Hiking shoes and Lunch as there are no shops near the lake after hiking for 50min up and 50min down back to First. Carry water and umbrella if the weather aint great. Highly recommend to do this hike if the weather is fine. Will be the best thing in your life!

The blue-green lake appears as you walk up the hill, turn around and see row upon row of Alps. Then walk further up to Faulhorn or turn back and see more!
