Steep at times, but exhilarating. I will never forget it. This hike stands out as the finest I have ever done. Loved it and will be talking about this one for a long time. Not very crowded at all. We got to the hotel on top and had the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Thank you Faulhorn as you... More

Lovely walk from first with a variety of footpath quality (i like variety). The Faulhorn had views over the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, and also down into the Interlaken valley. The clouds swooped in and out adding to the atmosphere. There are food facilities up here which I didn't use. But i was very impressed with the views from the... More

This was a sensational alpine walk starting at 1,900 metres at Schinge Platt and finishing at First. The descent from Faulhorn to the lakes was quite steep and I would not want to do it in reverse. The trail is well marked and not too difficult, even for 60+ legs. Highly recommended

We took the Firstbahn from Grindelwald and hiked to the Alpbachsee. The climb gets a little more strenuous up to the Faulhorn but the path is wide and smooth. The Lodge at the top of Faulhorn is quaint and the owners very friendly, we had a lovely slice of chocolate torte and a coffee on the outdoor patio and took... More

I opted for the Schynige Platte to FIrst route which includes Mt Faulhorn. It is an outstanding hike with wonderful views of both the Alps, including the big 3 mountains as well as the valley which includes Interlaken and Lakes Brienz and Thun. The hike is approximately 17kms but is well sign posted the enture way, even when there is... More

nThe path from Schynige Platte to Faulhorn the Faulhornwag is one of the outstanding ridge walks of the Alps. My only bit of advice, don't drink the coffee if it is shipped in by helicopter.

We hiked from Schynige Platte to First and stopped at the Faulhorn Hut for lunch. We took the steeper route up and the gentler route down because that was the direction we were travelling. If you are reasonably fit you won't have any problem with either route. I managed to snag a table right at the railing. What a view!... More

From First via the Bachsee walk, carry on up the pass and turn right to the Faulhorn, reputedly one of thre oldest hotels in Switzerland, pereched on the top. The effort is well rewarded with stunning views to the north and the Brienzersee, with a panorama of mountain views in all other directions including the Eiger, Wetterhorn, Shilthorn etc. Preferred... Its exactly as the title states, it was 15 full kilo metres of epicness. There is a bit of work envolved and the price does add up, but this is the worlds longest taboggan run and the ride is worth it, not only are you racing down steep slopes and carving up snow at some crazy speeds dodging other sleders...
