Its exactly as the title states, it was 15 full kilo metres of epicness. There is a bit of work envolved and the price does add up, but this is the worlds longest taboggan run and the ride is worth it, not only are you racing down steep slopes and carving up snow at some crazy speeds dodging other sleders... We walked from Schinege Platte to First and took the detour over Faulhorn. It was hot, 30+ degrees in the full mid afternoon sun, but it was well worth it. The views from the top are beautiful and it is such a reward to get there and enjoy that view. We neither ate nor drank here, we simply used the... More

Come prepared! Well worth the effort but this is a strenuous path and I had some altitude sickness towards the top and it started getting very cold as the sunset. But, an incredible view especially at night or during the sunrise/sunset. It took my friends and I 5 and a half hours hiking from Grindelwald - First - Faulhorn. But,... More

Recommend walking from First to Schinege Platte and going to the top of the Faulhorn for the views - a classic alpine walk and we'll worth the effort

We hiked for 5 days in the Jungfrau region - hiked up to the magnificent Faulhorn to get out of a terrible rain storm. We were welcomed with a hot bowl of soup and very pleasant staff. We didn't stay the night but would certainly include it in our next trip!

We did the hike from Schynige Platte to faulhorn which is a 4 hr uphill beautiful hike filled with cows, greenery, rocks and lakes. One of National Geographics top hikes but dress accordingly and wear the right shoes and prepare to sweat in any temperatures and wear sunscreen. The hotel was situated impossibly on top of the cliffs overlooking the... More

From the First gondola to this incredible view, and on to Shynige Platte, this is WHY you come to the Alps. The hike is one of the longest in the Jungfrau region, at just over 6 hours one way, but is breathtaking, majestic and eventful in a good way. From lakes to spanning plateaus, there's much to see along this... More

Not the most stunning peak to look at, given all the peaks around but as a viewpoint it is fantastic and is the highest point on probably the most scenic walk in Europe, between First and Schynige Platte. This is not a walk to be taken lightly as it is 15km long at over 2000 metres altitude and could catch... More

Truly beautiful hike: the trail takes about 6 hours and keeps changing along the way - from lush green, to rocks, to snow (leftovers at July), to high steep peaks, then finally to the lakes near First. Just amazing.

really nice hike where you go up with an old train, walk along a ridge with view over Brienzersee and once you are on the top of Faulhorn you have a good view
