The views were terrific! The hike from First to Lake Bachalpsee was great with the sound of cowbells and rustling streams and, sights of cows, wildflowers and the Grindelwald valley besides the majestic Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau. The zip line (First Flyer) and the trottibike were absolute fun!!

We took the gondola up to First and had some spectacular views both on route and at the top. Lots of hiking trails available but equally good to just stop for lunch or coffee & cakes & take in the mountain air & views on the terrace. Looked like a fabulous zip wire to ride but the queues were long... More

Journey via gondala up to first takes about 30 minutes or so, pick a good day and you'll see for miles around. Plenty of scenery to take in, plus there's a restaurant/shop if you wish to buy/eat anything before you walk. Recommend you walk to Balchapsee, around 50 minutes to an hour at a steady place to see the magnificient... More

We took the gondola up to the First for a hike to the Bachalpsee. The lake is about an hour hike from the top of the gondola, but numerous other hiking paths either start from the First or can be joined once you reach the top. The ride up provides amazing views back over the Grindelwald Valley, and there are... More

Panoramic views of the mountains including the Eiger, with Grindelwald in the valley below, a photographers dream.

be sure to have the swiss potatoes up grindelwald first, very delicous. But careful not to enjoy it so much or you´ll miss the flyer included in the ticket - it closes early! :(((

Well worth going up here if you're a hiker, as it's the start of a network of beautiful walks. If you're not up to long treks, do the hour or so hike to Lake Bachalpsee, and watch out for the marmots along the way.

The 25-minute gondola trip is extremely exciting and should not be missed. The day we did the trip there was a lot of cloud cover but once the sun emerged it only added to the sheer delight of being in such a beautiful part of the world since the scenery is breathtaking.

From the oldest to the youngest, we all enjoyed our trip. The weather looked unpromising as we set out but the children loved going up through the clouds and coming out into sunshine. Halfway, there is a good restaurant with a great park for the children to test out their rope skills. We had difficulty persuading the children to leave... More
