Great (half) day of hiking from First. Moderate walk with great terrain and views from First to Bort middlestation. For the sporty types the walk to Faulhorn is fantastic (also or especially in winter). For Faulhorn make sure you have enough time (and food/drinks) though!

Although it was a rainy day when we were at Grindelwald, we decided to try our luck and travelled to First via the cable car. Luckily the rain stopped shortly after we arrived First. We enjoyed the view, the swings inside the playground, the First flyer and the hiking trail too. Strongly recommend those staying in Grindelwald to visit this... More

Took cable up with wife and two small kids, hiked slowly down. Lunch at small lake. Do bring: • Kids, if they can hike, or you can carry them • Snacks, drinks, coffee • Camera • People you love to share nature with • Patience. It's not for sure that the kids want to admire the same things that adults... More

Amazing views at the top and an excellent reataurant and walking trails. You can stop off at Bort where there is a play area for children and the opportunity to bike your way back to Grindelwald and an excellent restaurant.

Took the tram up to the top on a Friday late afternoon. It was not busy at all, but realized why after departing. Afternoons are prone to haze/fog and rain all of which we had. Visibility was limited and very poor at the top. This it is best to go in the am. We still enjoyed the trip and go... More

Great trip on the cable car to some wonderful views, looking down on paragliders was a somewhat unusual experience. There is also a zip-wire ride at the top for those with enough courage!

My husband and I got the cable car to the top of First and then got a zip line part the way down and a "trottibike" (a form of scooter) the rest. We were blessed with fabulous weather which made the experience all the more enjoyable. The 360 degree views from the cafe at the top of First are stunning.... More

We bought the First Fun Package, it was funny. We took cable car to First, hike to the lake Bachalpsee, hike back to First, took the First flyer to Schreckfeld, hike down to Bort and finally take the trottibike back to Grindelwald. I think the Bachalpsee hike and First flyer are must do, while the hike down to Bort is... More

A village of Grindelwald might be prohibitively expensive in winter but comes a real bargain in summer, and quite enjoyable. Picture postcard place, traditional mountain chalets covered with brightly coloured geraniums, within easy reach from Interlaken, it offers endless opportunities for hiking and shooting.

We have been on this cable car several times and it leads to an beautiful place to start hiking and explore the mountains. The views going up are across to the Eiger and Monch so spectacular. If you want a day trip in Grindelwald this is a great choice.
