Just a short walk from our Grindelwald hotel, fun and exciting tram ride up to a spectacular deck looking out over the G'wald valley and backside of the Eiger. The downhill coasting trip on specially outfitted scooter/bikes looked really great. A cold bier and that view on a sunny warm day -- an amazing 2-3 hour Alpine outing.

A limited number of pistes but good for a day. It is probably better to go up to Klein Scheidegg where you have access to Wengen and other areas.

Every winter, and often in summer, we take the cable car from Grindlewald up to FirstBahn and then walk down, either to Bort, where we catch the cable car down, or else all the way back to Grindlewald. The restaurant at the top is excellent and the walks themselves spectacular, although it is absolutely necessary in winter to have all... More

Skied First this year as despite coming to wengen for many years we had never made the trip to First. It's very limited, the runs are short and not very challenging. I would say it is a very good learning ski area. The pistes on the far right are all serviced by T bars which is a shame. The bubble... More

First is a nice place to go boarding or skiing, only its located mostly in the sun so its one of the first places to close or negatively affected by the higher temperatures. So if you are in the area and the snow is good, pick a sunny day to visit. The piste are wide and easy to handle. If... More

Great ski area for families - not crowded & plenty of good mountain restaurants. Long, well groomed runs perfect for the whole family.

BIG TIP - when booking your skiing holiday particularly in Grindelwald don't let the tour operators by your passes !!! It is so easy to do it at the station yourself and you get a better exchange rate even better if you have free use of your credit card whilst abroad which some cards give. Your rep will charge at...
