First has a good variety of runs at all levels with two snow parks. All the lifts were open and there was plenty of snow. There is also a good selection of restaurants for lunch although expensive by British standards. There is a nice long red to the bottom to end the day with a regular 15 minute bus service... More

Did the zip wire at First and it was truly spectacular - was over too fast, the wait in the queue was worth it.

Good all round skiing for beginners, upwards. Bodmi area by the village for the children and other beginners to learn. First has all levels of skiing and you can walk or toboggan.

Super cable car ride from Grindelwald up to First. Great views on the way and at the top. Later we took the cable car to Bort and hiked down the mountain back to Grindelwald. Bracing wonderful day.

After skiing two days from the Maennlichenbahn area up towards the Eiger, we decided to try skiing from the Firstbahn. First of all - oh my goodness, what a queue!! We arrived at just after nine am, hoping to miss the ski schools, and the queue was well outside the lift building and halfway down the hill. It took us... More

well worth the ticket, amazing views!! It was too cold for us personally to be out long, and zip lining was definitely out of the question. Kids enjoyed some sledding, while we had a nice lunch in the warm chalet.

Went in second week of May, the first few days when activities on First were just open and crowds yet to fill in ... crazy views of the snow capped mountain ranges. Got to be a kid once more - zip line at over 2,000 m exhilarating and don't miss the trotti bike ride down :) Could not hike to... More

We had looked at this and knew it was something we had to do, My husband went with our two kids and it was such a highlight of our trip. The kids were 9 and 10 years old at the time. I stayed with my daughter who was too young to participate. We were staying in Murren and took the... More

Easy blue and red ski pistes in full sunshine when the weather's good. Also tobogganing and walking paths are well-maintained, with access via the gondola lift system.

There is a gondola that takes you up through several stations (where you can get off for sledding runs or various ski areas) or head to the top which is very high and gives you lovely long runs. I skied the blue and red runs and found them very similar- the blue a bit hard, the red easier than expected.... More
