We were very disappointed with this experience. Most of our Swiss trip was great, but this was the one day we could have spent differently. The train fare is way too expensive and the "Top of Europe" is one of the most over commercialized places I have ever visited. I would recommend skipping "Top of Europe" and only book the... more

Visiting Jungfraujoch "The Top of Europe" is an experience not to be missed. A pleasant train journey (with comfortable seats and an interesting video to watch) takes you from Kleine Scheigg (beautiful in itself) up through the mountains, into the Eiger. You stop twice on your way up, to aclimatise and take a look out of the viewing platforms. We... more

I have been to Jungfraujoch twice. In German, 'Jungfrau' means 'virgin' and 'joch' means 'pass'. For those who do not know the meaning of a 'pass', it is a place (like a saddle saddle) between 2 mountains that enables one to cross from one valley to another without having to go over a mountain. Many people have mistaken Jungfraujoch to... more

If this is the only visit to the Alps you ever do, it's all you'll need. The price of the ticket up to Jungfraujoch is pricey, but the views all the way up and back are well worth it, not to mention the views from the top of the mountain. The tram ride up can be crowded with skiers, especially... more

There is actually no place in Switzerland which I can describe as avoidable but looking back, Jungfarujoch is an experience which you will not forget in a lifetime. This is one of the highest peaks in the Swiss Alps and in Europe and particularly popular with Indians. Remember: Sunny Deol jumping off the observatory deck in the "Hero: The Love... more

I recently took my family to Grindelwald and at the hotel where we stayed we saw the leaflet for the Jungfraujoch. We looked it up on the free internet available there and the pictures of the place were outstanding. However, the leaflet was a little confusing about how to get there because it appeared to suggest that the train going... more

This really is the top of Europe - well the highest railway station at 11,333m. Start the jouney (if staying in Interlaken) by taking the train to Lauterbraunen then up to Wengen and then onto Kleine Scheidegg from there you get the train to the Jungfraujoch. On the reurn journey go back by Grindelwald - this way it means you... more

The decision to go to the Jungfraujoch in Switzerland last year was the best decision I made after convincing my friend that I should see something different. Spending more than 100 euro per night excluding the accommodation was something out of our budget totally. But I have insisted that we should go there. At last, it proved that I have... more

We didn't go all the way despite it being high on our list of things to do. It is very expensive and there is a lot of advice saying "only go if the top is clear as there is no point if there is no view". Many people get booked on in advance as part of their tour so they... more

Visited the Jungfraujoch three times. Sad to say that last summer it was spoilt by helicopters landing on the mountain bringing tourists. Four or five at a time on the mountain. Also a 'hole in one gold game'. Surely as a World Heritage Site this should not be allowed. It does spoil the tranquility and views of such a beautifully... more
