Took the gondolas then the tram up to Klein Matterhorn. The ride alone was great. But once there, the views were stunning. And they had free tubing! I got to go tubing in the alps!

Not to be missed - little point in going to Zermatt if you do not visit the Klein Matterhorn or other mountain location.

Getting op with the gondels, in total you go up more than 1.800 m to over 3.800 m above sea level. I think the longest gondel in Europe or the world. The views are spectacular. Not just the Matterhorn but all the mountains. You feel like in a winter wonderland. Even people are skiing in the mornings. A must do when... More

Full disclosure: I am afraid of open heights but we visited the Alps because my husband wanted to and to give me a chance to face my fear! The Klein Matterhorn, of the three Alpine mountains we visited (the others were in Switzerland and Italy) was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. The gondolas stop in mid-air to allow people to enter... More

Travel to the top for views on a clear day up to Jungfrau, out to Mt Blanc and down into Italy. You are very close to the Matterhorn and it dominates the western views. But dont just look there, the view all round is awesome. The restaurant at the top is a bit expensive, but very warm (great after you've... More

Today, one does not have to be an skilled climber to be able to see the highest mountains. One of these options offers the Matterhorn Express from Zermatt to the Little Matterhorn. A giant information board at the entrance to the cable car station shows the operational status of the various mountain transportation and facilities, and weather conditions. A little... More

We fortunately had a clear day for a day trip from Montreux, (thank you SwissPass and Trip Advisor forum) and the cable cars (3) to 12,700 feet to see the world in including the famous Matterhorn (a good deal higher) bring you to a truly spectacular view point where you ride up with skiers in May but you get to... Enjoy absolutely stunning views of the spectacular mountain range. The cable car ride is fun, even if you are packed in a bit like sardines! Be prepared for cold conditions on top - it was minus 11 during our visit and a really bitter wind. After some fun in the snow, a hot chocolate soon warmed us up.
