Description: One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express...
One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express from Chur/Davos to Tirano (via St. Moritz) links up regions with different languages and cultures. This is not a rack railway and the train winds its way gently through splendid scenery. One of the highlights is the panoramic journey through the UNESCO World Heritage RhB. On the highest railway across the Alps, the Bernina Express climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to the palms of Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.

I took the Bernina Express with family on our train trip from Paris to Rome in March 2015. From Zurich, we took a 7:37am train that got into Chur at 8:52 then transferred across the platform to the Bernina Express. As others have mentioned, the scenery you see from the train is absolutely stunning and the conductors were very friendly... More

We took this tour from Milan to the Swiss Alps! One of the highlights from our trip! It was the first time I would see snow and I was certainly not disappointed! It was snowing bucket loads and was absolutely stoked! We had a great tour guide who spoke brilliant english! She had great knowledge of everywhere we went! The... More

The change in scenery , weather and landscapes is mind boggling and you can enjoy all this in half a day's time. And if that fails to amaze you , the Brusio spiral viaduct will. The highlight of the trip for me was the wild mountain goats (?) we spotted and , the lovely pizza and spaghetti we had in... More

This is a great trip, Chur to Tirano, through the Alps. We chose to beak the trip up and stayed overnight at Pontresina, we are so glad we did! Then rejoined the trip the following day bringing us to Tirano where we went onto Milan. The train has panoramic windows, so you get to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. The staff... More

We booked this tour through Expedia . Took the bus from Milan to Tirano, and the Bernina Express from Tirano to St Moritz. It was absolutely beautiful . I was a bit disappointed w the train itself . I was expecting something a little more " old world luxury " but the views made up for it . At every... More

After much research into scenic train journeys to do for my boyfriends birthday I decided to book this trip. We took the regional train from Lecco to Tirano and then joined the Bernina Express at Tirano. Easy to book and not that expensive compared to glacier express. The train had big beautiful windows, and comfy seats. We took this trip... More

While I was living in Chur I had some chances to participate at this touristic train. Its great spending 4 hour on a train with panoramic windows. Refreshments are available and when you reach to Tirano you can enjoy this small İtalian town. The journey takes about 4 hours and you have been informed with speaker about the places passing... We took viator tour from Milan in a coach to Tirano Italy n Swiss border. Our bonus stop was a cute little pilgrim church of Madonna Di Tirano. The next 2.5 hours were extraordinary beautiful views any direction we looked. The pretty little villages @ d bottom of the alps look like the ones on Christmas cards. Despite d freezing... More

We took this tour from Milan (guided coach tour from Milan to Tirano, and then Bernina Express to St Moritz, and Coach back to Milan). The highlight was the Bernina Express as the winter scenery was unbelievable, but the commentary from our guide made the coach tour great as well. We had about 90 minutes in St Moritz - pretty,...
