Description: One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express...
One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express from Chur/Davos to Tirano (via St. Moritz) links up regions with different languages and cultures. This is not a rack railway and the train winds its way gently through splendid scenery. One of the highlights is the panoramic journey through the UNESCO World Heritage RhB. On the highest railway across the Alps, the Bernina Express climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to the palms of Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.

I ended my trip on this feeling utterly exhausted as the sensory overload too its toll. All I can say is that this ride was an utter privilege to take and was so stunning

Having travelled on the Glazier Express we thought nothing could ever compare or top it, until that is we discovered this train journey. It is as the other reviewers have said so well, truly amazing, the scenery will stay with you forever. Don't miss it.

We booked the tour through viator. The meeting place is close to the entrance of Castello Sforzesco. Even when the weather forecast is bad i still took the risk and it turned out to be a perfect day! Boarded the Bernina Express (Train 951 carriage #6) in Chur departing at 08:32hrs. Absolutely amazing especially with all the snow around as the train climbed to Alp Grum where it stopped and allowed you to get off and view the scenery. As the train descended to approach Tirano the scenery changed to hills with waterfalls cascading down and green fields... More

My wife and I took the Bernina Express rail tour with Viator. The trip was fantastic for a 170.00 Canadian. We had a little trouble finding the departure point. We went the wrong way from the subway stop , but we saw other people with there map and found the bus. The guide spoke English and Spanish on our bus... More

I took the Bernina Express with family on our train trip from Paris to Rome in March 2015. From Zurich, we took a 7:37am train that got into Chur at 8:52 then transferred across the platform to the Bernina Express. As others have mentioned, the scenery you see from the train is absolutely stunning and the conductors were very friendly... More
