Glacier express has two routes to choose from St. Mortiz to Zermatt and Zermatt to St. Mortiz We choose St. Mortiz to Zermatt and we boarded the train from Chur. The train was clean, staff was very good, food was amazing we ordered Indian Chicken Masala which was delicious. I believe 3 meal course is expensive (44 CHF) as if... More

After we boarded the train, our steward explained to us that we were going to make a detour to avoid the part of the track which had been wiped out in that avalanche the other day. This meant we were going to use the old part of the track, which I assumed was safe and hopefully free of avalanches. With... More

The trip was from Chur to just outside Zermatt. The lunch we were served (beef stroganoff) was very good. We were even offered seconds! The dessert was good as was the coffee. The scenery was AMAZING!!!! Simply Wow! No better way to see the Swiss countryside, farms, waterfalls, glaciers, and rivers.

There were some startling views on this much advertised train journey. BUT There were long waits at two stations. 20 minutes to explore a station is hadly necessary. The journey from Disentis to Chur was not very spectacular. We were surprised that for the journey from Chur to StMoritz we were coupled to a stopping train. On the whole we... More

We had previously travelled on the Glacier Express and loved the scenery and got lots of great photos but were not not overly impressed with some other aspects of the operation. This time, we travelled the same route but on the ordinary Materhorn Gotthard Bahn trains, in first class. It was wonderful! We had heaps of space, saw the same... More

My wife booked this trip and we had both been looking forward to it for months but what a let down. We travelled in first class and if that's how they treat people in first class I'd hate to see how they get treated in second class. I found the staff on this train to be downright rude. I don't... This is a great way to see a good amount of what Switzerland has to offer----- FANTASTIC SCENERY.We booked 1st Class thinking you may get something better, from what I could see the only difference between 1st & 2nd was the seat colour---and not so many other passengers in 1st Class That may have been due to the fact that... We travelled from Brig - Chur fantstic views through the panoramic windows - for best views sit on the right facing the direction of travel. Take your own picnic on the train as the food on board is very expensive. Photography is difficult as you get lots of reflections from the windows.

We took the train from St. Moritz to Zermatt. The overall travel time is about 8 hours and passes by very fast. The scenery with the different mountains, the excellent train system with the many tunnels and bridges are just outstanding. The personnel in the train was very friendly and helpful and the seats were very clean and comfortable. It... More

Its an ok experience. 2 hours into the journey still nothing picture worthy. We were in 25 seats 11 & 12 window seats. That side of the train gets all the sun and all the landscape as well . It was hot inside the train. Pictures are impossible due to the reflection on the window panels. After 2 hours and... More
