My girlfriend and I travelled on the Glacier Express in March from Zermatt to Chur, about 5-6 hours. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and worth every penny. We also have the half-fare card so it was actually really cheap in my view. We brought our own food. The trip brings you through some fantastic scenery that you would not... More

We travelled on the Glacier Express in September 2014 but it runs all year round. The journey takes between 7-8hrs for the entire trip from St Moritz to Zermatt (or vice versa). The train has large panoramic windows which allows you to enjoy and experience all the stunning and breathtaking beauty the Swiss Alps has to offer. The carriages are... More

We had a fabulous experience! We chose the first class, panoramic coach and were very comfortable the whole day. Although mostly full, we revelled in the extra comfort and photography 'room' of a first class experience; the bigger windows and service provided while in the car. The alps are so beautiful. Loved taking photographs but beware of glare from the... More

I travelled from Andermatt to St Moritz on the Glacier Express, and was lucky enough to have clear weather both ways with copious snow on the higher sections. There are several points on the section towards St Moritz where the line loops around and crosses itself - so you can literally see where you have been underneath some bridges, and... More

It was one of those side trips we will never forget. We left from Zermatt and then spent the night in St Moritz, and returned to Zermatt the next day. It's an all day train ride but the views are spectacular. The Swiss Alps are so beautiful. I would recommend the right side of the train, I think we had... More

We spent a week in Switzerland, and one of the days we travelled from Filisur to Brig on the Glacier Express, a journey of 5h 40m. This has to be one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world. We were very lucky as the weather was crystal clear showing off the stunning scenery at its finest. On board... More

We loved the idea of this trip. And they delivered. The Winter snow made it even more spectacular. Very good views with the glass dome. We booked First Class and were pleased we did with more space and peace and quite. Very scenic and interesting with the narrative earphones to listen to along the way. We enjoyed the full meal... The view is of course the best part of the trip. The food on the train is just an average as well as the staff at St Moritz which is a bit unfriendly. Not the girl on the cashier but her boss.

Join the train at Chur for a wonderful journey through the alps and wonder at both the never ending vistas and the feats of engineering required to make this route a possibility part of which is designated a Unesco World heritage site. Being winter the mountains were covered in snow and the views quite magical but in summer they can... More

The Glacier Express is a full-service modern train with panoramic views and a slow travel speed. The Glacier Express travels through the Alps on mountainous terrains providing the travellers with breathtaking views. The train has a dining car, and one can also pre-order meals for the journey. We did not order meals, just two cups of coffee for ~5CHF each,... More
