I would like to compare our trip in January in the snow with a summer journey on this line but that will be next time.. :) What can you say...? The train itself is modern and comfortable. The staff were excellent with courtesy and service. The views along the journey are amongst the most scenic anywhere. It is hard to... More

When we first boarded the train, it was starting to snow...it became heavier and heavier. The train itself was a clean, smooth ride with spacious seating. The staff were very helpful (multi-lingual) & even came back with a second helping of the lunch. Due to the snow, we began to run behind schedule and the staff were very apologetic (we... More

We rode the local trains from Chur to St. Moritz. It is the exact route of the slower Glacier Express. Our train was two hours and then a transfer at Chur to Zurich. We rode in the same first class, panoramic car. There is no food service, so bring something with you. The views were stunning. There are a lot... More

Having read the glossy Glacier Express Brochures and on our first visit to Switzerland, a trip on the GE was high on the agenda. For some reason the company running this train would not allow us to do an online reservation so had to do this at a SBB station at Zurich As we Now know we could have had... More

Lunch on the train, cabin with the roof carved out, wonderful views.. what else can you ask for? It felt very luxurious, we were very comfortable but I admit it the ride was very long. We came from Zurich, took the 1.15min train ride to Chur, then boarded the Glacier Express. We have GA cards, a tageskarte from our Gemeinde... More

This is a wonderful experience, staff were excellent and the meals very nice but for all parts of the trip you can go on local trains with attach themselves to the proper Glacier express carriages on most of the trip and where they don't just catch a local train. We did the reverse trip on normal trains and it was... More

Rode the train from Chur to Andermatt on Christmas Day and can't think of a better way to have spent the day. The scenery was beautiful, and there was plenty of snow to be seen at the highest point! I found it a very relaxing ride. I found it quite roomy, and not cramped. Our seats were table seats, with... More

A am a native Floridian, and if I could paint a picture of alpine paradise, this train trip would be my canvas. There was never a dull moment or scene that didn't make you go "aah!" We had lunch reservations for service at the table between our seats and enjoyed a fairly good "roast beef" lunch. It was pricey, but... More

While the train journey itself is stunning with magnificent scenery en route, our experience was dreadful - entirely spoiled by surly, offensive service by the waitress in our First Class (sic) Compartment. Having ordered "Hot Chocolate" drinks we were served with a luke-warm, tasteless beverage of sorts. The waitress said she had no time to properly heat the drink for... More

I must first start off by saying that there is no snow ever in the place where I come from and the temperature never drops below 25degrees celsius. So this was the most beautiful train ride for me and my family. Pure white snow all around, beautiful scenery all through. We went on the complete glass(almost) coach. I didn't enjoy... More
