Surreal! The 8-hour train ride is worth the trip. The view is something you will always remember. Passing through the mountains and small villages and appreciating all that nature has to offer gives you all the reason in the world to help keep and preserve our planet. Unbelievable Swiss engineering. Impeccable efficiency.

Glacier express is a train which takes you from one mountain peak St.Moritz, goes down and to another mountain peak Zermatt. The ride is really scenic. I had only 2 day transit at Switzerland and I had to make maximum use of the time without losing much. Hence, I opted to take the train from mid way from a place... More

The first class section of the train is very comfortable, with groups of two seats on one side and groups of four seats on the other. Both sides have tables, and all seats have headphones that play Swiss music and also give information about areas the train passes through at various points. Food, drink, and souvenirs are available for purchase,... More

If you can get tired of seeing snow capped Alps, deep gorges, sheer rising rock escarpments and quaint farms and little town, then it could happen on this seven hour train ride. Great train, great cars with big clean windows. The bummer is that it is just about impossible to take a good photo through the windows because of reflections.... More

A truly memorable experience except for the lunch. The publicity for the 3 course meal is so good it makes you see stars [of the Michelin variety] but it just 'train grub' at fancy prices. I was unable to eat mine. Take a picnic with you and enjoy amazing views!

The train ride is definitely scenic. But it's very slow. I am not sure if I want to do it again. It's nice to do it once, but it's too much for me.

What an amazing trip through the Alps with fantastic views and surprises along the way. We did the Bernina express route and a trip to St Moritz from Chur so joined the train at Chur and took it right tbrough to Zermatt. From the Meadows of the Rhine valley to the snowfields at Oberalpass then down the Rhone and finally... More

It was the most beautiful trip I´ve ever taken. It takes 8 hours from St.Moritz to Zermatt but it worthwhile each minute. I suggest that you travel in the first class because of the enormous windows from where you have the best views. The landscapes are awesome.

We travelled from Zermatt to St Moritz late April so were a bit concerned about the snow backdrop but we found plenty. The other concern was some of the reviews on tripadvisor, althought mostly excellent there are s few notes which cause concern. Thankfully it appears the poor reviews are restricted to individuals who must be expecting something along the... More

Good view around the train but that day it's third day for my trip. So I saw the best view on Gornergrat Bahn before.
