We booked first class seats (the table for two) for our trip from end to end (St Moritz bis Zermatt), but ended up being ANGRILY downgraded to second class at Chur (1/4 of the trip or less) because the electrics and A/C in our car cut out. We wouldn't have minded, except that the staff didn't apologise, and weren't especially... More

I just finished a review of the Bernina Express, but this is better in different way. On the Bernina you saw the rugged Alps and lakes. On this train trip you see glaciers, waterfalls and snow. It's longer but very scenic!! There were a lot of ales in our carriage. Huge glass windows makes viewing easy. Just watch the glare... More

Yes, an AMAZING trip of our lives! We were treated to feast of beautiful scenery right before our eyes as the "slow express train" roll along the mountainous alps and valleys in summer! Highly recommended especially for those coming from urban city living. New Zealand is beautiful but this is certainly a must see in your itinerary to Switzerland -... More

I know that you have to book this trip when booking your initial holiday & the price may seem steep, but believe me, when you finally see the sights & views you be pleased that you did. I thought that Austria was fantastic, but the views here were something else. As an extra you can continue onto Alosa, which is... More

If you came all the way to Switzerland for its natural beauty and to see the Alp, taking Glacier Express, gives you a lovely journey to and through the Alps. You'll have chance to stop by at view points and then move again. The train is itself very well mantained and the large windows are there to assist you enjoy... More

We used this train as a transfer between Chur and Brig, although it does go through to Zermatt. The train was extremely comfortable, with lots of leg room and air conditioning. The panoramic windows ensure that all the amazing sights are fully visible throughout the journey. Audio commentary is provided throughout the journey highlighting the key areas of the journey,... With an expectation I was about to travel on one of the most spectacular railways in the world, I was not wrong! With views either side of the carriage with wide clear windows it was a photographers paradise. The post card picture views were unbelievable and if you decide to travel this train you are in for a treat. As... More

The Glacier Express was a nice ride across Switzerland and the views were phenomenal! I highly recommend bringing your own food and drink onto the train though - pack a picnic rather than eating their food that is highly overpriced and the staff is not the friendliest. If you bring your own food/drinks you can just keep to yourself, which... More

We did the entire journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz. The train takes you through beautiful breathtaking scenaries in Alps. You just need to simply relax and look outside the windows for those 8 hours, dont miss any of it. They also provide commentary for the regions the train is passing thru. The commentary is alright, if you miss anything... More

Not what I expected. Several stops to pick up other travelers. Clean bathroom. Enjoyed the last part of the train ride. Didn't care to be solicited to purchase souvenirs while on board.
