Having now read the reviews after the event I realise that, whilst I would not have changed our trip to St Moritz and back, I would at least have been more prepared. Having watched various TV programmes about the Glacier Express - I like many here was expecting more than was delivered. Not least the fact that taking photographs along... More

We went on the Glacier Express in April with Great Rail Journeys in first class. The views were stunning looking out of the glass panoramic windows. The journey was to Chur with lunch on board served by friendly staff.

We did this from St. Mortiz to Zermatt and really enjoyed the trip. We had 1st class tickets and paid in advance for the lunch that was served a few hours into the trip. As we had done our research prior to the trip, we knew that beverages and snacks were not included in the ticket price so we brought... More

I'd have rated this with 5 instead of 4 if I hadn't done the Bernina Express the following day, which was even better. However it is still a great experience, one that I had been wanting to do for years, and it did not disappoint. And having done it in summer, I am now thinking about repeating it in the... More

Definitely worth doing this. I rode only from Andermatt to Chur, and selected the GE instead of the regular train (which had many more stops). I think it was worth the premium to have fewer stops, but the train was not labeled Glacier Express (like the Bernina Express was). Also, I decided to treat myself and upgrade and what a... More

By far, one of the biggest highlights of our trip. I can't say enough good things about it - the food, the scenery, the luxury of the train, the staff, was all SUPERB!!! My husband and I never got bored sitting in the train and the landscape is so beautiful we never left our seats. We upgraded to first class,... More

Would highly recommend beginning in St. Moritz, b/c Zermatt is a magical mountain town to end your train tour of the Alps. 2nd Class cars are spacious and air conditioned, recommend you dress lightly with layers to add/remove as needed. Tickets are very expensive, but worthwhile Earbuds are provided so you can listen to the many worthwhile sightseeing narrations 291... More

Fantastic views, Fantastic service and Fantastic everything except you cannot take great photo's from the train as there are so many reflections from the glass which was an absolute let down

Travelled around Switzerland independently with a 8 day Swiss Pass. Got on the Glacier Express in Brig and travelled to Chur. Luckily, the weather was fine and the scenery was spectacular in parts. I travelled First Class, which I would definitely recommend, if possible, as it was so comfortable and the train staff very friendly and helpful. There is an... More

We did this trip on 10 Sept, from Zermatt to Fillisur, so probably missed out on the best bit to St Moritz. We were also unfortunate in that the weather was not good with low cloud so did not get the mountain views. We travelled First Class and I would definitely recommend the upgrade as Second class looked a bit... More
