I traveled first class on Glacier Express in January 2016. It was an amazing trip with brilliant views, be sure to have your camera ready. We were also served a good meal in our seats. The staff were helpful throughout the trip. I would definitely recommend this trip as a great way to see the mountain views of Switzerland If... More

This trip was on my bucket list for 40 years. It was worth every moment. The scenery and the train provide a wonderful experience. I would have given this 5 stars but I felt some of the staff serving food and drinks were quite sullen and unfriendly. A woman travelling in the same carriage as us was told about three... More

Firstly this train is not an express, and you don't see a glacier!!!! Our trip was spoiled by the behaviour of the catering manager?, who claimed we had not booked meals in first class, and had a tantrum in the carriage, We then had to wait over two hours for meals, and couldn't really leave our seats as we didn't... Took the trip from Zermatt to St. Moritz in January. It was exactly what we needed after three days of skiing. Very relaxing and comfortable. We opted for the three course meal and it was very good. Enjoyed a bottle of wine while taking in the scenery and a few naps. I didn't realize there were train stops (one was... More

First off, we did NOT take the "official" Glacier Express. We took the same routes using the "regular" Swiss trains. The one advantage/disadvantage (depending on your view) is one cannot take a single train for the whole route. If you don't take the official Glacier Express, you have to switch trains at a couple of stations (Chur-Muster-Andermatt-Brig-Zermatt). However, we found... More

Before we booked tickets on the Glacier Express, I had read some really terrible reviews, where folks complained of the duration of the trip, inability to take pictures, etc. I considered this to be a once in a lifetime deal and so we took the plunge going for 1st class tickets. The views were incredible! The service was also first... More

The windows of the train are up till the roof and spotless. So you can enjoy the mountain view in all its splendour. The train itself is very clean and well maintained and very punctual.

We tried the 1st class panoramic glacier express, the train runs through beautiful mountains, lakes, valleys, rivers and the scenic beauty is just too beautiful to believe. The compartment had glass windows until the top so seeing the tall mountains right above you was a wonderful experience. Cons : Its expensive & the services could be improved.
