Walensee is my favourite stop when returning from Flumserberg or Pizol...Just to lie down in the grass and sunbathe in the summer (or swimming as well) or if there is more time take the boat to Quinten and enjoy the good food in the restaurant with red roof ;-) take the exit to Murg when driving the car at the... I came here with family straight from Turkey in the height of summer, and based on my preconceptions of the Alps I was afraid I'd be cold and want to stay indoors all weekend. I was definitely mistaken! Not only was the nature too remarkably beautiful, with the deep lake surrounded by mountains, it was surprisingly hot. In fact on... More

For hikers the Walensee offers very nice spots on the north side of the lake. As there is no road you have to hike. The walk offers the highest waterfall of Switzerland and at mid way there are some very good restaurants with local wine. The clima on the north side is very warm. Even figues grow there. One of... First of all, the Walensee is absolutely breathtaking as it's surrounded by the most interesting and beautiful Churfirsten mountains. The Walenseebühne, where Musicals take place outside in the summer is perfectly situated as you can sit outside, watch the Musical and still see all the mountains and trees. Every seat has a good view of the stage as the row... More

Beautiful lake, 75 minutes from Zurich. We spent 10 days there, the location is great for star tours with easy access to the Rain falls (Rheinfall ), Titlis , Kerenzenberg and other great attractions

But actually no, I’m not kidding. Mountains an hour away from Zürich - no hassle, no mountain boots, no cumbersome backpacks. Riviera climate. Not overrun by tourists, why? No roads. Well OK there are some of course but most of the traffic is aquatic. Enjoy the awesome spectacle of the Churfirsten rising above you from a comfortable seat on board... More

Such a wonderful, beautiful, spectacular area! Perfect for hiking, biking, and relaxing. Summers the area is wonderful for exploring the hills or just laying around and soaking up rays, and in winter an abundance of skiing is available.
