It was on an unusually hot day in August that we did this climb. Great workout and beautiful views, no crowds at all. I loved the vineyards on both sides of the hike and the old walls of the castle. The town itself is so pretty: picturesque painted houses, nice cafes, relaxing and very organized rhythm unusual for those who... More

Note you can go without all the stairs! There is a parking lot (if you have a car) just outside of the adjacent park. As we were there in a blizzard the view was a little different than what everyone else's experience was but we were lucky enough to meet the groundskeeper Chris (who LIVES in the house on the... When you first get up the 200 steps, you just reach the basement. Then, a ramp leads you to a great terrasse surrounding the city... It must be great in Summer...

It is in the old town Schaffhausen. You will have to climb the stairs to the top of the hill. which will lead you to the Chateau.Walk way in the chateau is made of stones. To go to the top part, you will have to walk up the spiral walk way (not too steep). From there, you will have a good... More

Well worth the climb & the view is excellent. Refreshments at the top in summer and this a cool medieval structure unlike any I have seen anywhere else. Great place for the kids to run around ... there is a moat with deer and plenty of space with not so much to break! There are stairs from the downtown area... More

It is in the middle of Old Town Schaffhausen. You need to walk up the winding ramp or steep stairs but worth it for the views of the Rhine and town. You pass some vineyards as you go.

It's a hard climb up the steps but the views when you get to the top are fantastic with the vineyards in the foreground. There's not a lot to see inside and it is quite dark and damp but it is free to get in and well worth it.

It is well worth the climb where you can appreciate the medieval character of this historical fort used by the community to host numerous events. Amazing views of the city and the Rhein river. You can also appreciate the vineyard growing on the slopes on which the fortress stands.

It's a steep climb up to the Munot but it stands grandly above the town and provides an impressive backdrop to the picturesque town of Schaffhausen.

Very old building but you should have good shoes (like trainers) to go up the roof, high heeled shoes are not recommended. It is not so many things to see except the nice view. Good point: the entrence is free.
