We visited Rheinfall on August 01. This is national holiday in Switzerland and for this reason there is a fireworks on the Rheinfall every year. I visited Rheinfall the first time and I have never seen a waterfall as big as Rheinfall before. It is very impressive to see and hear it. There are plenty of spots to see the... More

As we live in the Schaffhausen area it is a must to make a tour to the Rhinefalls each time we have friends from other countries at home. You can visit the Rhinefalls at any season it is always impressing and spectacular.

We visited Rheinfall in December as part of a coach tour from Zurich. Just watching the volume of water pass though the falls is incredible. We were lucky enough to have a boat ride out to the falls and we were able to get really close ( and wet ) to have even a more spectacular view. Well worth a... More

Rheinfall is easily accessible from Zurich HB. The train ride is less than 40 mins and it brings you to the doorstep of Rheinfall. The admission tickets is just CHF$5 and you can walk to almost very close to the waterfall. Enjoy the strong water splashing onto you. Enjoy the sound of it. A slight pity that there is no... More

I went in November 2014, getting there by train from Zurich's main railway station. Well worth seeing. I paid a small charge to enter the 'restricted area' and this allowed me to get extremely close to the Falls, thus experiencing the sheer power and speed of them. However, that aside, you can gain excellent views of the Falls by walking... More

We had extra time and as the Falls are never closed decided we could hit this up with no implication to the schedule. Unfortunately a storm was moving in and had caught up to us by the time we drove from Zurich. There was constant snow and fog which made it very hard to see. Additionally they had not yet... More

Wonderful vision of the flow of water. Possible to walk very close to the falls themselves. Boats not available in winter time.

The Rhine falls are one of the most scenic places in the region. Though they are quite impressive in all seasons, visiting in Spring/Summer would be excellent idea. Boat rides are available to the opposite bank from where the Falls can be viewed from different View Points approachable by narrow staircase.

We visited Rhine Falls in November from Stuttgart, Germany. It was a great day trip and the falls were great. We've lived in Iceland so it's hard to impress us with waterfalls but this one reminded me of Iceland and was great! The boat trip out to walk up to the top of The Rock is a must do if... More
