We went in during the rainy season and saw no point paying 15 euros for watching the falls that were visible to a certain degree by the small windows in the building next to it. It wont be weird to give it a miss and head out elsewhere.

It's great but not grand or majestic. A boat takes you across the river or to a cliff base where one can climb stairs to watch the falls, from close quarters. We visited in May 2014.

This place is simply exceptional! We have visited it two times, one in the spring and one in the fall and both of them were magical moments to remember. You can took the boat from the elevator to fell the water stream or just relax in the café with great view of this piece of nature.

On a warm winters day (Winter of 2015 was particularly warm) i took advantage of the weather and decide to travel to Switzerland from Stuttgart. This 2 hour journey was absolutely worth it! Payed 5 franks to catch an elevator down from a souvenir shop and walked to a ledge that literally hanged over the cliff. Was stunning to see... More

There are a number of viewing points for the falls, easily reached by car or on foot, but the best, IMHO, is from Schloss Laufen. Take the lift or walk down the path and end up very close to the falls. There are a number of platforms, going down the side of the falls so you can get great photos... More

I just arrived in Europe in 25 Dec 2015 and my first stop is here. It's really beautiful here! Magnificent view here! But it's also cold here, haha. Nice! Recommend anybody who want to go to Switzerland must go here! ;)

It was very cold when I visited there. The Rhein Fall gives excellent view of running water and one will feel as if standing over water while viewing from platform. The visit was superb and thrilling. One can spend 3-4 hours just standing there. The view was excellent. There was a small souvenir shop near entrance and a coffee shop... More

We parked our car near the river and walked along the ricer until we saw the Rheinfall. Before we saw it, we heard the thunderous waterfalls, that shook even the ground we were walking on. Once we saw it, we were mesmerized. Wow! These Falls are so majestic and right in the middle of the Falls is an island, where... More

Very respectful experience standing in a platform and see all that water coming in your direction! I was sad I couldn't make the boat trip 'cause they're close this time of the year. I truly recommend!

If you've been to the Niagara falls or better off the Iguassu falls you can't be too impressed with the Rhine falls. But your kids will be impressed and if you take them on a short boat trip to the bottom of the falls they will also be thrilled and very excited. Other than that, there are fascinating overlooks at... More
