As part of our Tell Pass, we took the boat from Luzern to Vitznau, then the cog railway up Mt Rigi. There were some rain showers on the way and we were hopeful it might snow at the top of the summit. It started to snow half way up, and we opened the windows of the cog railway at times... More

Make sure to come on a clear day to enjoy the fantastic views! During the winter Rigi is great for skiing and during the summer you can enjoy a lunch in the sun while taking in the scenery

I have been up Rigi many times, and by many methods. My favorite is to take the boat from Luzern to Vitznau, then the cog railway up. You can take the train all the way up, or get off at Kaltbad (where the spa is). On a summer day the walk from here to the top is lovely and not... More

this is nearest peak to lucerne. the over all experience going to this place is simple and less tiring as compared to other peaks. the journey involves ferry and cogg wheel train and while coming back the preferable route is cable car nd then ferry back to lucerne. the base station of ferry was very beautiful with nice houses.

It takes about 25 minutes or so to the top with few stops. Staggering views all the way up and the view at... More

As it was during winter, and it was very cloudy on that day, I expect the summit to be clear as the clouds would be lower. But to my dismay, it was very cloudy and I could not see anything up there. But there was snow to play with so that settled most of the things.

We visited Mt Rigi on a day trip from Lucerne asit was recommended to us for the view from the top was stunning. However on the day in question the first snow of the winter descended on us. We took the cog rail train but as the snow was so heavy we had to follow a snow plow train up... More
