We took the ferry to Vitznau and the train to the top on a pretty clear afternoon. The restaurant closes in the afternoon. It is possible to take the other train to Arth Goldau and the train to Luzern. If you like views, you will like Rigi, if it is clear

The Rigibahn mountain railway is Europe's oldest and second oldest in the world. Why I like it is because it gives you great views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. It's not the tallest but it shows you those taller mountains. Get out at the top and walk around, you will hear nothing but cowbells!

It was a great experience for the entire family as we get to travel on the cruise, cogwheel train (up hill) and the cable car (down hill). The view along the train / cable car ride was just stunning, panoramic view of the lakes and Swiss alps. Young children enjoy free-fare so it was really worthwhile for young family like... More

The best thing in trip to Mount Rigi from Luzern is that you get flavour of cruise, cable car and cog wheel train, all in one trip. The views from Mount Rigi are amazing and the round trip from Luzern can be done in half day or less.

I suggest you take the boat from Lucerne to Vitznau and then the train up to enjoy the mesmerizing views over the lake. The views from the Rigi Kulm are like photos you would see in wallpapers. Tons an tons of sports options available like tobaganning and skiing ( lot in peak summers though)

Oh to live on Rigi! Brilliant train ride up and then you can walk a bit, stop and eat and drink, walk a bit more or swim in vitznau in the lake. There's also a cable car to Weggis but we didn't try out that.

It is one of my favorite places in Switzerland and every time I go there, I still get amazed by the beauty of the landscape. Another great thing is that the trip up to Rigi Kulm is fully covered by the Swiss travel pass so it comes at no additional charges. Whenever I have visitors I always take them there... More

We enjoyed this experience more than our "top of europe" Jungfrau trip; fewer crowds, amazing views and $275 less!!!

My initial plan was to visit mount Titlis and Mount Pilatus during my stay at Lucerne, however when i heard from one of my friend that mount Rigi also could be a good options since I am also planning to visit Jungfreu ... I can skip mount Pilatus and on that day I can get on to Mount Rigi, the... More

We were taken here by family who are keen outdoors people and live in the area. Heading up on the cog railway cost about 50CHF for each adult but the kids (14 year olds) were free. The top was crowded and the views were great. We then walked down and around the various pathways seeing lovely wild flowers and spectacular... More
