Sorry but having lived in Himalayas, the natural beauty of Switzerland seems overrated. Mount Rigi or Pilatus area has peaks much lower than what I have seen. Not saying that these are not nice and beautiful but if I had to make a choice, I would go to Himalayas next time. Yes, one thing which Switzerland should be praised for... More

The ride on the train to the top is breathtaking. Lot of skiing and tobaganning options available. Very well marked routes and decently maintained slopes made my first ever toganning experience memorable. The views from the Kulm was absolutely breathtaking!

This local mountain offers a panoramic view of the surrounding alps. I liked that there were a variety of paths to get to the top from three separate towns and two methods of climb; cogwheel train and/or hanging gondola. If in the Luzern area, do not miss the chance to grab a life-long memory at the top of either Pilatus... More

We took a day trip from Lucerne to Mount Rigi in early March. The whole trip, which would have been over CHF100 each, was covered by the Swiss Pass. Our party of 4 consisted of 1 elderly and 1 adult non-skier, and 1 teen and 1 adult skier. We all loved our day at Rigi. We took the boat to... More

It is free with swiss pass. You get the boat trip on lake Lucerne whis is lovely but not much to do on top of rigi. If you go with the intent to do some hiking on the trails then I think you will have a much better experience. There was still snow on the trails and we didn't have... More

Mount Rigi is a must to visit! The view up there is amazing subject to weather. You can take a short walk from the top to the next station below and have a lunch there. There's a few ways to go up to Mount Rigi. We took the easiest way up/down. 1 train ride from Luzern to Arth Goldau station... More

It was a small trip to the top. It was completely covered in the swiss pass so we decided to go. Not disappointed. Although there is not much to do at the top; you can enjoy the view and eat at the restaurant.

Its the highlight of my trip to Europe! I fell in love with Switzerland after making this trip because I got to cruise at Lake Lucern, see very picturesque towns, mountains along the way, take cog wheel train, enjoy the snow, views at Mt. Rigi, cable car down another town, and cruise back again. Its an easy and wonderful trip,... More

We set off by boat from Lucerne to Vitznau. Mist developed over the water and it seemed like we were going to have a fruitless trip up the mountain as far as any views were concerned. However we decided to press on boarding the cog wheel train up the mountainside. Suddenly we were in sunshine looking down on fluffy white... More
