We walked the old town area then proceeded to cross the bridge. We were very lucky to have it to ourselves for great photos etc. very historic . Still evidence of the earlier fire damage. We enjoyed a coffee upon the banks with great views back to the bridge. Easy access. Few steps.

One of the most beautiful bridges, Lucerne is an amazing place, the artwork is phenomenal. Go there to ski but don't miss this.

Read up on the historical significance of this bridge before you visit, you will be able to enjoy it much more and notice the little details (like the paintings above your head)

A simple attraction, yet full of history and intrigue, including a fire and rebuild only 20 years ago!

Even though part of the bridge burned down and has been reconstructed it is very difficult to spot. The new sections do not have the beautiful painting.

You must take a walk along this bridge when you stay in Lucerne. Take a look at the original artwork hanging above the bridge!
