Beautiful walk through long bridge. It was quite fitting with the entire area. It was entirely covered- (nice when it was raining). The bridge was built in the 15th century, and there was a section where you could see where a fire a destroyed part of the roof.

Numerous ancient pictures to view as you walk on this historic bridge. There was a fire long ago but the bridge has been restored. It provided shade from the hot Sun the day we were there.

The Chapel Bridge and associated Water Tower were built at an odd angle across the Reuss River as part of the city defences in the 15th century. A similar shorter bridge lies downstream as the Chaff or Mill Bridge. This bridge was sadly damaged by fire but has been rebuilt so that the 'new' is not that obvious. Triangular paintings... More

This bridge was nice to walk along. It gives you a good view of the city and also over the lake. The bridge has a bit of historical charm to it and it's good to see.

A lovely place to visit in a great switcherland town. It is steeped in history and is probably the centre attraction if Lucerne

wooden bridge partially destroyed by a fire but rebuilt using some of the burned material. Take your time to read the history and what the bridge and paintings stand for... otehrwise it's just a bridge over a lake to you.

Probably the most attractive bridge I have seen for a long time -there are simialr bridges in Thun and Interlaken but the two in Lucerne are extremely photogenic

If you visit like I did over a weekend this place is too busy to appreciate fully. It is extremely beautiful though so grab a few pics and carry on with your visit. If you have small kids you may want to carry some bread to feed the swans and ducks on the lake.

Loved the pictures and the views of the chapel and castle from the bridge. The pictures are of religious nature with a creepy touch of skeletons in many of them. Very interesting mix. It's an easy walk.
