I could not stop taking pictures from this romantic and beautiful medioeval covered foot-bridge on the Reuss river, at the mouth of the lake. The bridge with its paintings, the adjacent Wasserthurm, the view of the lake and the Alps, the city with its old buildings. All around gives a scent of medioeval flavor, a flight back in the past!

You can read all about it and look at numerous photogpraphs but nothing beats the experience of seeing it close up and walking over it...several times. Yes, the originial was destroyed by fire and this is a replacement but it is still a glorious piece of architecture which stretches at an angle across the river and is lined on either... More

The bridge is absolutly beautiful, its is so neat to be able to walk on something that was constucted in the 14th century. In the US we dont have the opportunity to do this. Don't forget to look up and see all of the paintings on the roof.

One of my favourite places by the lake...just to stand there and spend time by the lake is nice. Best is to go in summer or fall...else it would look like just another wooden bridge...visited in 2012

one of the most beautiful places on earth with the oldest wooden bridge, surrounded by a lake glimmering and swans drifting over the water, so peaceful and romantic

This historical covered bridge is close to the train station and well worth your time to walk across. The many paintings in the roof panels show scenes of the 17th century. Beautiful flowers adorn it. Definite photo stop.

What an interesting bridge. Lots of character. The Bridge is a covered wooden footbridge with lots of flowers on the outside. The roof of the bridge has many paintings on the inside. It is especially beautiful at night.
