I decided last minute to book a bicycle trip during our stay in Lucerne. I contacted Echo Trails late Wednesday night via email inquiring about a bicycle tour for our family on Friday and Rene Welti promptly contacted me. I am very glad that I was able to arrange for a bike ride with Rene because it was one of... More

Dear Susan & Family, Thanks again for giving our "Half-Day" ride a go. I was so happy the weather held so you got to see the incredible alpine scenery you only see on that "bike trail" summit ridge. You all are troopers. Please feel free to tell your friends that a stop in "Lucerne" and an ECHO Trails tour is... More

Dear Yianna, Congratulations - You are my first Greek to conquer Mt. Rigi in Winter walking on the packed and not so snow-packed trails. Your connection with the Greek Gods provided for one of the bluest sky days ever. It will be a pleasure to welcome you back for another "insightful" snapshot of this very beautiful Lake Lucerne region area. More

If you're staying in Lucerne and want to experience the adventure of hiking a mountain and the luxury of relaxing in a mineral spa, then I would absolutely recommend signing up for the Mt. Rigi guided hike from Echo Trails. Rene is a top guy and I am sure all of his tours are as good as the one I... More

My hike on Mt. Rigi with René was an eye-opener. I live in the region, and had already visited Rigi numerous times before. But as a seasoned regional guide, René displayed a comprehensive and fascinating knowledge of the region's history and culture, and introduced me to a splendid rustic dining experience at Alpkäserei Chäserenholz. Having a competent guide like René... More

We had a wonderful day with Rene, who was quick to respond to our emails and provide us with several ideas and information about the area. The weather predictions were for 100% snow on the day we had chosen to visit Mt Rigi, so Rene was very flexible in changing our excursion to another day. What a beautiful day it... More

Dear Janice, You and Bill are the only two who I know who just flew from the USA to Lucerne for a long weekend trip. The Swiss alpine sun Gods opened the skies for your day on Mt. Rigi and so glad you experienced it all as you wished. Merry Christmas and let the power of the Swiss alpine mountains... More

My sister and I did the Villas and Castles Walk and the Mt. Pilatus Hike and Summit Excursion on September 2 and 3 respectively. We enjoyed seeing the various villas and going inside and seeing Meggenhorn castle was a treat. The Mt. Pilatus hike was great and the weather that day could not have been nicer. We enjoyed the hiking... More

We visited Lucerne on Sept. 27, 2013 and took the Mt. Pilatus tour with Rene. I had received a call and email the day before from Rene explaining how the weather was changing and finding the best time for great visibility from the summit. Rene is extremely organized and wants everyone to have the best experience possible. The best experience... More

Dear Zach, As "flat-landers" you and your wife did great on the mighty Mt. Pilatus. The alpine Gods must have heard your request as they opened up for you. These are the same alps that the former TWA flew across thanks to all the TWA Kansas City Maintenance Base guys maintaining the planes. On your next trip bring along your... More

The full day tour of Mt. Pilatus with our guide, John, was outstanding. John set the pace to match our abilities and desires (lots of photo ops). The views were magnificent and the various means of transportation (bus, cable car, cogwheel train, boat) interesting. Have recommended it to family since it's such a great experience. Would do it all over... More
